Finally got FTB agent to process return over phone after months of being told to wait - SUCCESS
Just got off the phone with FTB and finally found an agent who actually helped instead of giving me the usual wait response. They processed my return right over the phone. If youre stuck waiting, keep calling - some agents will actually process it while others just tell you to wait. Don't give up!

This is actually great advice. The key is to keep calling until you get an agent willing to help. Each agent has the same access and abilities, but some are more proactive than others. Don't accept the 'just wait' response if you've been waiting an unreasonable amount of time.
