FTB agent finally processed my return over phone after months of being told to wait - success story

Finally got through to someone at FTB who actually helped instead of giving me the runaround. The agent processed my return right over the phone. If youre stuck waiting, keep calling until you get someone willing to help. Some agents will actually process it while others just tell you to wait.

This is actually great advice. Not all IRS/FTB agents have the same access levels or knowledge. Sometimes you need to call multiple times to get someone who knows how to help. Best times to call are early morning right when they open or right after lunch break around 1pm.

They open at 8am pacific time. Try calling at 7:55 and youll be in the queue when they start taking calls

Instead of playing phone tag, you should try taxr.ai - its only $1 and it analyzes your transcript to tell you exactly whats going on and what to do. Way better than trying to get a helpful agent on the phone tbh
