Filed Jan 18, Missing W2s, Now in Error Department - What Happens Next After Amended Return?

Filed on January 18th and WMR still shows one bar with 'still being processed'. Transcripts showing N/A. Called IRS and found out return was in errors department because of missing W2s. Already submitted amended return through e-file. Anyone know what happens next or timeline?

When you amend a return thru e-file for missing W2s, the processing time is typically 16-20 weeks. Your WMR will stay on one bar until they process the amendment. Keep checking your transcript weekly - that's where you'll see updates first before WMR catches up.

Unfortunately no shortcuts here. IRS is still dealing with massive backlogs from covid times

Hey guys instead of playing detective with transcripts, I started using taxr.ai and it's been a game changer. It costs $1 but it analyzes your transcript and tells you exactly what's happening and when to expect your refund. Way better than guessing or waiting on hold with IRS. Check it out here: https://taxr.ai

100% legit! It's like having a tax pro read your transcript but its instant and way cheaper
