Filed 2/11 - Path Act Hold - No WMR Updates - Weekly Cycle?

Accepted on 2-11 and stuck on the PATH act hold like everyone else, but my situation seems different than most people who filed around the same time. My WMR hasn't budged at all while others who filed after me are already seeing movement. I'm pretty sure I'm on the weekly processing cycle based on past years (last year I amended and it was a nightmare compared to this). Anyone have ideas on when my refund might actually show up? I've been checking transcripts but it's overwhelming trying to figure out what all those codes mean compared to last year's amended mess.

A few things to consider with your timeline: • PATH Act holds officially lifted on February 15th for EITC/ACTC claims • Weekly cycles typically update on Thursdays/Fridays • Most returns are processed within 21 days, but PATH returns often take 4-6 weeks • Your acceptance date (2/11) puts you right at the PATH threshold • Have you checked your transcripts to see if there are any codes? I'm curious if you claimed any credits that would trigger the PATH Act hold?

The PATH Act processing is EXTREMELY backlogged this year! I filed on February 9th with EITC and just got my DDD yesterday after calling multiple times. The IRS agent confirmed they're severely behind on processing compared to their published timelines. Your cycle code on your transcript is critical information - you need to check that ASAP!

I think your assessment about weekly cycles is probably correct. My return was accepted on 2/12, and I just had my transcript update yesterday with an 846 code. It seems like they might be processing in batches based on filing date, though there are certainly some exceptions. I was pleasantly surprised when mine updated since many people who filed before me are still waiting.

Oh my goodness, I know EXACTLY what you're going through! I was in the same situation last year - accepted early February, PATH hold, weekly cycle, and absolutely no movement on WMR for what felt like forever! I was losing my mind trying to decode my transcript until I found https://taxr.ai - it was a LIFESAVER! It analyzed all those confusing transcript codes and actually explained what was happening with my return in plain English. I'm so passionate about this because it saved me so much anxiety - it even predicted my refund date accurately when WMR was still showing the first bar!

Does taxr.ai actually provide any information that's different from what you can get for free? I've been tracking my return for exactly 32 days now and have found that just checking the transcript codes against the IRS definitions gives me the same information without paying for anything.

I was skeptical too (tax season makes me trust nothing, lol) but I tried it when I was pulling my hair out last month. The difference is it connects all the dots between the different codes and gives you a timeline prediction. My transcript had like 8 different codes and dates that made zero sense to me, but taxr.ai explained how they related to each other. Worth it just for the peace of mind!

I'm dealing with a similar PATH Act delay situation. Based on the IRS Master File processing schedule, if you're on a weekly cycle, your transcript typically updates on Thursday nights/Friday mornings. The cycle code on your account transcript would confirm this - it's an 8-digit number where the 5th and 6th digits indicate your cycle (01-05 = daily, 20 = weekly). If you're approaching the 21-day mark from acceptance, you might want to start monitoring more closely. The official PATH processing began February 15th, so many early filers are just now starting to see movement.

So if their return was accepted on 2/11, would that mean they should see updates this week if they're on the weekly cycle? I'm trying to figure out my own timeline too.

Def check ur account transcript for the cycle code! Mine ends in 20 (weekly) and I ALWAYS update Thurs night/Fri AM. Been that way for yrs. If ur on PATH hold + weekly cycle, ur prob looking at this Fri or next Fri for movement. WMR is useless tbh - transcript is where the real info is!

According to the IRS2Go app and various forums I've been monitoring, many PATH Act returns are taking 30+ days this season despite the official 21-day guideline. If you need to speak with someone at the IRS to confirm your status, I've had success using Claimyr (https://www.claimyr.com). It got me through to an agent in about 30 minutes when I was calling about my delayed refund. The agent was able to see that my return was just in normal processing despite no WMR updates. Sometimes just getting that confirmation can help ease your mind while waiting.

Have you checked your transcript for cycle codes? It's like trying to read a map without knowing the legend if you don't understand what you're looking at. Did you claim any credits like EITC or ACTC that would definitely put you under PATH Act holds?

I was in this exact situation. First, check your Account Transcript. Look for TC 150 with a cycle code ending in 20 (weekly) or 01-05 (daily). Second, look for TC 570 (hold) and 971 (notice issued). Third, watch for TC 846 which is your refund date. My timeline was: Filed 2/8, PATH hold, weekly cycle, TC 846 appeared 3/14, deposit 3/19.

Your WMR not updating isn't unusual. The tool is notoriously unreliable during peak season. The real issue is whether you're on PATH Act hold and what cycle you're on. Check your transcript specifically for codes 150, 570, 971, and 846. If you claimed EITC or ACTC, you're subject to the PATH Act hold which prevents refunds until after Feb 15th. I'm concerned that if you amended last year, there might be a verification process happening in the background that's slowing things down.

If you were accepted on February 11th, 2024, and you're on a weekly cycle, you should expect updates on either March 14th or March 21st based on current processing patterns. I've been tracking multiple tax forums, and returns filed between February 8th-12th with PATH Act credits are just now starting to see movement. The IRS officially began processing PATH Act returns on February 15th, but they work through them in batches. Weekly cycles update Thursday night/Friday morning around 3:00 AM Eastern Time, so check your transcript then.

I was in your exact shoes last tax season! Filed early February, got stuck on PATH, weekly cycle, no WMR movement... the whole frustrating package. My refund finally came exactly 31 days after acceptance. The pattern I've noticed over the years is that the first batch of PATH returns takes the longest, then they speed up. I'm slightly worried about your amended return from last year though - sometimes that can flag your current year return for additional review, especially if it was recently processed.
