2024 Tax Refund of $5,663 Accepted 1/21 - Est. DDD 2/11/25 - Confused About Acceptance vs Approval
My refund just got accepted today (01/21/2025) and I see a refund date of 02/11/25. Does accepted mean it's approved? I've been hearing about hub batch processing and wondering if I'm part of that. Filed with one dependent if that matters. Here's what my TurboTax account shows: 2024 tax return $6,763 refund $6,763 Submitted: 01/18/25 Accepted: 01/21/2025 IRS Refund est. 02/11/25 FEDERAL ACCEPTED $6,763 01/21/2025 MA STATE MA STARTED $0 due I can download my return or check "Where's my refund?" on the site, but I'm not sure if "accepted" means I'm definitely getting my refund or if there are more review steps. I filed through TurboTax (I can see it's from us-east-2.turbotaxonline.intuit.com) and claimed one dependent. Is the February 11th date reliable or just an estimate? Anyone know if I'm in this "hub batch processing" thing I keep hearing about?

Tax expert here - acceptance just means the IRS received your return and it passed basic checks. Approval comes later after they review everything. Hub batch processing is for prior year returns, not 2024 returns. If you got a DDD (direct deposit date) of 2/11, you should see funds within 1-5 business days from that date depending on your bank.
