Filed 2023 taxes on Jan 4th - When to expect refund on Direct Express card?
I filed my taxes on January 4th and chose to get my refund on my Direct Express card. Anyone know how long it usually takes? This is my first time using the card for my refund instead of regular direct deposit. Getting kinda anxious about it.

Tax pro here. Direct Express cards typically follow the same timeline as regular direct deposits. If your return was accepted, you should see it within 21 days unless there are any flags on your return. You can check WMR tool or your transcript for the most accurate updates.

Direct Express can sometimes take an extra day or 2 after the deposit hits to show up on your card just fyi

I'm also waiting on my Direct Express refund! Filed on 1/6 and still showing "received" on WMR. The waiting game is brutal but from what I've read here and other forums, Direct Express follows the same timeline as regular DD. Just hang tight - you filed super early so you should be in one of the first waves. Keep checking your transcript too, sometimes it updates before WMR does.
