Filed 1/22 with EIC - Anyone with Similar Acceptance Date See Updates?
Mine were accepted on 1/22. I have the Earned Income Credit so I know processing takes longer, but I can't access my transcripts online right now. Was wondering if anyone who filed around 1/22 has gotten any updates? I'm trying to budget for some upcoming medical appointments and getting a bit anxious about the timeline. Has anyone in a similar situation seen movement on their refund?

Hey there! I filed & got accepted on 1/24 (so pretty close to u). Got my DDD yesterday after checking WMR obsessively lol. Mine had EIC too. Transcripts were N/A until last Fri, then boom - everything updated at once. Tbh I was shocked how quick things moved after that initial waiting period. Most ppl in the EIC boat are seeing 21-30 day processing this yr from what I've seen on here.

Did you notice any specific codes on your transcript when it finally updated? I'm trying to understand what to look for when mine finally becomes available. My return has EIC as well, but I'm hesitant to get too optimistic about timeframes.

This is really good to hear. I filed on 1/23 with EIC too and have been checking non-stop. Been through this rodeo before but it's always stressful. Last year my transcripts were N/A for weeks then suddenly everything happened at once, just like you described. Fingers crossed for all of us in the same boat!

When you say "accepted on 1/24" - are you referring to the IRS acceptance notification from your tax software, or the actual processing acceptance? Because those are two different things, aren't they? The first just means they received it, not that they've started processing.

I was in your exact situation last year - filed Jan 23rd with EIC and couldn't access transcripts for what felt like FOREVER (it was actually 3 weeks, but time moves differently during tax season, lol). I finally discovered https://taxr.ai which helped me understand what was happening with my return. You upload your transcript once it becomes available, and it explains all those cryptic codes and gives you a realistic timeline. Saved me from checking WMR 27 times a day! 😂 Might be worth checking out once your transcript appears.

I've tried several of these transcript decoder tools and found most of them just regurgitate the same IRS information you can find online. How is this one any different? Does it actually provide insights beyond what the IRS cycle code chart already tells you?

Does it work for amended returns too? I filed an amended return exactly 16 weeks ago and my transcript has shown code 971 for the last 42 days with no movement. Would this tool help in my situation?

When did your transcripts finally become available last year? I filed on January 21st, 2024 and still showing N/A as of April 2nd. Trying to determine if this timeline is unusual compared to previous tax seasons.

I'm in a similar situation but filed a bit earlier (Jan 19). I needed to speak with someone at the IRS about my EIC verification, but couldn't get through after trying for days. I finally used Claimyr.com and got connected to an agent in about 30 minutes. They confirmed my return was just waiting for standard EIC processing and nothing was wrong. It was worth it to know for sure instead of just wondering, especially since I'm counting every dollar this year. Here's their link if you need it: https://youtu.be/_kiP6q8DX5c

I've been filing with EIC for about 7 years now, and there's definitely a pattern. Last year I filed on January 20th and didn't see my refund until February 15th. The year before was similar - filed January 24th and got my refund February 17th. The Path Act delays EIC refunds until at least mid-February regardless of when you file in January. So if your experience is anything like mine, you should see movement very soon. The good news is that once it starts moving, it usually completes quickly.

Your refund is likely being processed right now. The IRS is required by law to hold all EIC refunds until February 15th at the earliest (due to the PATH Act), but they're now working through the backlog. Based on current processing times, returns accepted on 1/22 with EIC should be completing verification now. You need to take these steps immediately: 1. Check WMR daily - use the IRS2Go app for quicker updates 2. Call the tax advocate service at 877-777-4778 if nothing by 4/5 3. Set up direct deposit verification in your bank account 4. Prepare ID verification documents in case you're selected The medical appointment timing is concerning, but you should see movement within 7-10 days based on current patterns.

The PATH Act verification protocols are creating a bifurcated processing timeline this year. Returns with Earned Income Credit submitted before January 29th are being processed in sequential batches based on Cycle Code assignment. Your January 22nd acceptance date would typically place you in Cycle 05, which updates transcripts on Thursdays and reflects in WMR on Saturdays. Have you verified your tax account access credentials recently? The transcript unavailability could be due to authentication issues rather than processing status. The IRS transcript database and WMR systems operate on separate update schedules and don't always synchronize correctly during peak processing periods.
