Cycle Code 0605 - When Should My Transcript Update? (Accepted 2/27)

I'm in cycle 0605 and my return was accepted on 2/27. I was really expecting to see an update this weekend but nothing changed. Last year I was in cycle 0805 and my transcripts updated like clockwork every Friday night. Anyone else in 0605 seeing movement? I've been tracking my processing pattern for my college finance project lol.

Cycle 0605 means you update on Wednesdays, not weekends. I'm in the same boat and it's driving me nuts. I got accepted 2/22 and still nothing showing on transcripts. This year is moving slower than previous years for sure.

Are you 100% certain about Wednesday updates? I've been checking exactly every 12 hours since 2/27 and haven't seen any movement. My refund is exactly $3,426 and I need to pay my tuition deposit by 4/15.

Let me clarify how cycle codes work: 1. First, the cycle code doesn't guarantee when you'll see updates - it just indicates when your account is processed in the IRS master file 2. For cycle 0605, the "05" means it's processed on Wednesdays 3. However, the WMR tool and transcripts often update Thursday night/Friday morning 4. The "06" indicates the year (2024) If you were accepted 2/27, you're approaching the 21-day normal processing window.

Has anyone actually seen movement today? Need my refund ASAP. Car broke down. Can't wait much longer. Should I call them? Getting desperate.

I filed on February 19th and got cycle code 0605 too. My transcript finally updated on March 20th (Wednesday night/Thursday morning) and refund hit my account on March 25th. The pattern seems to be about 4-5 weeks from acceptance to deposit this year regardless of cycle code. The April 1st batch should include a lot of late February filers based on what I'm seeing.

Thanks for sharing your timeline! Always helpful to see real examples from people in the same cycle. Makes the waiting game a little less stressful when you can see the light at the end of the tunnel. šŸ˜… Hopefully mine follows a similar pattern.

Appreciate the specific dates. Have you noticed if having any credits affected your timeline? I'm wondering if the Child Tax Credit is slowing things down for some filers in the same cycle.

I'm also cycle 0605 and was accepted 2/25. My transcript didn't update for weeks, then suddenly on 3/20 (Wednesday) it updated with codes 570 and 971. I think they're processing a big batch of late February filers right now, but there might be... issues. My advice is to check Wednesday night/Thursday morning, but be prepared to possibly see a hold code rather than a refund date. It seems like many in our cycle are getting additional review this year.

OMG same exact thing happened to me! I got those exact codes on 3/20 and freaked out. Turns out it was just a minor verification of my W-2 amount. The 971 was just a notice telling me they were looking at it. A week later it resolved itself without me doing anything. The technical term is a "systemic verification hold" which happens randomly.

Thank you for mentioning the specific codes! I'm going to watch for: • 570 - Additional account action pending • 971 - Notice issued • 846 - Refund issued (the one we want!) Is there anything else I should be looking for on my transcript?

I've been through this cycle code confusion many times. While you *might* see movement tomorrow, it's probably best to reach out directly if you're approaching 30 days with no updates. The problem is that calling the regular IRS number is almost impossible this time of year - I spent hours on hold last week. I finally used Claimyr (https://www.claimyr.com) and got through to an agent in about 15 minutes who confirmed my return was just in normal processing with no issues. Saved me days of stress wondering if something was wrong.

I'm always skeptical of these services. Isn't that just another way to get put on hold? The IRS phone system is broken no matter how you try to get through.

What exactly did the agent tell you about your cycle code? Did they give you an expected deposit date or just confirm it was processing normally?

I'm curious about this service... does it actually connect you with a real IRS agent or is it some third-party tax advisor? I'm hesitant to discuss my tax details with anyone other than the actual IRS.

Think of cycle codes like train schedules. The 0605 train leaves the station on Wednesdays, but it might not arrive at your destination (transcript update) until Wednesday night/Thursday morning. Based on current processing patterns, here's what to expect: 1. Returns accepted late February are currently processing in batches 2. Most 0605 filers from your timeframe will see movement this week or next 3. If you claimed EITC or CTC, add 7-10 days to the timeline 4. The "21 day" guideline is more like 25-30 days this tax season Patience is hard when waiting for money, but the system is like a pipeline - your return is definitely in there moving forward.

I'm so tired of the IRS and their mysterious cycle codes! 😔 The whole system is deliberately confusing. Technically speaking, cycle code 0605 means your account is processed on the 5th day of the week (Wednesday) in the 2024 processing year. BUT that doesn't mean your transcript updates that day. You should be checking your transcript Thursday mornings (after midnight Wednesday) and your WMR Saturday mornings. The disconnect between different IRS systems is why everyone gets confused.

Tax professional here. Cycle codes are interesting but not as predictive as people think. Last year I tracked 50+ clients' cycle codes and actual deposit dates, and found only about 60% correlation between cycle day and when updates actually appeared. For 2024 returns, I'm seeing 26-32 days as the average processing time for straightforward returns. My client who filed 2/22 with cycle 0605 just got their DDD yesterday. The IRS is working through a backlog from February, so I'd expect your update within the next 7-10 days based on current patterns.
