After 300+ Days of Code 811 Freeze Finally Removed, Hit With New 570 Freeze on $14,722 Refund - What Does This Mean?
After 300+ days of waiting, finally got the code 811 freeze removed after speaking with a tax examiner. Just checked transcripts today and got slapped with a 570 dated 12-30-2024. Anyone know what this means? I'm seriously losing my mind here. Here's my transcript info: RETURN DUE DATE OR RETURN RECEIVED DATE (WHICHEVER IS LATER) Apr. 16, 2024 PROCESSING DATE Jun. 18, 2024 TRANSACTIONS CODE EXPLANATION OF TRANSACTION CYCLE DATE AMOUNT 150 Tax return filed 20242205 06-18-2024 $14,722.00 70221-423-63495-4 806 W-2 or 1099 withholding 04-16-2024 -$54,000.00 810 Refund freeze 02-09-2024 $0.00 570 Additional account action pending 06-18-2024 $0.00 971 Notice issued 08-27-2024 $0.00 571 Resolved additional account action 12-07-2024 $0.00 811 Removed refund freeze 12-07-2024 $0.00 570 Additional account action pending 12-30-2024 $0.00 I've been dealing with this nightmare since February when they first put the freeze on my refund. My return was filed and processed in June, but they hit me with that first 570 code. Then I got some notice in August (971 code), and finally in December they resolved the issue and removed the freeze (codes 571 and 811). I was so relieved thinking I'd finally get my refund, but today I checked and there's ANOTHER 570 code dated 12-30-2024! After all this waiting, withholding of $54,000 and a refund of $14,722.00, I'm back to "additional account action pending." Does anyone know what this means? Do I have to start this whole process over again? No SE taxable income on my return, so it's not self-employment related. This is absolutely maddening after waiting almost a year already.

The code 811 freeze removal is good news - it means the IRS has finished verifying your identity/income. However, the 570 code indicates there's still an additional review happening. This is pretty common after an 811 lift. The 570 is usually temporary while they do final checks, typically 2-4 weeks. I'd recommend using taxr.ai (https://taxr.ai) to get a detailed analysis of your transcript and estimated completion timeline. It can identify exactly what's causing the 570 hold and give you specific next steps.

β’bruh im in the same boat π« 300 days is insane. did u have to verify identity or something?

β’Yeah the 811 usually means identity verification or income verification was needed. Once that clears, the 570 review is usually way faster

β’Just used taxr.ai and here's what I got back: My 570 freeze should clear in ~2 weeks based on current processing patterns. No additional docs needed.

Tax pro here - Code 570 indicates additional account action is pending. Its basically a temporary hold while they review something. Usually gets resolved within 2-4 weeks if there are no other issues. Keep checking your transcripts weekly for movement.

Hey guys instead of playing detective with these codes, I've been using taxr.ai and it's been a game changer. It costs $4.99 but it analyzes your whole transcript and tells you exactly what's happening and when to expect movement. Check it out: https://taxr.ai

β’How accurate is it? Like does it actually predict dates or just general timeframes?

β’Super accurate actually! It caught stuff I missed and predicted my DD date within 2 days. The AI breaks down every code and gives you a clear timeline

Ugh I feel your pain! Been dealing with similar codes for months. The 570 after an 811 removal is actually pretty normal - it's like the IRS doing one final check before releasing your refund. Usually resolves in 1-3 weeks from what I've seen. The fact that they removed the 811 freeze means you passed the major hurdle. Keep checking your transcripts every few days and look for a 571 code (that's when the 570 gets resolved). You're in the home stretch now! π€

β’Thanks for the encouragement! π Really needed to hear that after this whole ordeal. 1-3 weeks sounds way more manageable than starting over again. I'll definitely keep checking for that 571 code - fingers crossed it shows up soon!

Been through this exact same sequence! Had my 811 freeze removed in November and got hit with a 570 the next week. I was panicking thinking I'd have to start all over again, but it actually resolved pretty quickly. The 570 after an 811 removal is usually just their final compliance check - they're making sure everything matches up before cutting your refund. Mine took about 10 days to clear and I got my DD 5 days after the 571 posted. Your transcript looks normal for this stage - the good news is you're past the hard part! The 811 freeze is what takes forever, this 570 should move much faster. Keep checking every few days and you should see that 571 code soon π

β’This is super reassuring to hear! 10 days sounds so much better than the 300+ I just went through π Really appreciate you sharing your timeline - it helps knowing someone else went through the exact same sequence and came out the other side. Definitely going to be checking my transcripts obsessively now lol. Thanks for giving me hope that the finish line is actually in sight this time! π€

I totally get your frustration after waiting 300+ days! The good news is that the 570 code after an 811 removal is actually pretty routine - it's basically the IRS doing their final review before releasing your refund. Since they already verified your identity/income (that's what the 811 was about), this 570 should resolve much faster - typically within 2-3 weeks. Keep monitoring your transcripts for a 571 code which will indicate the hold is lifted. You're definitely in the home stretch now, even though I know it doesn't feel like it after such a long wait. Hang in there! πͺ

β’Exactly this! OP you've been through the worst of it already. That 811 freeze was the big one - identity/income verification can take forever. Now that it's lifted, this 570 is just their final housekeeping. I went through something similar last year and the 570 cleared in like 12 days. You're so close to finally getting your money! π

I feel your pain - 300+ days is absolutely brutal! But honestly, you're almost there. The 570 after an 811 removal is super common and usually clears way faster than the original freeze. Think of it like this: the 811 was the IRS saying "we need to verify who you are and that your income is legit" - that's the hard part that takes forever. Now the 570 is just them saying "okay we verified everything, just doing final paperwork before we send your money." Most people see this clear within 2-3 weeks max. Keep checking for that 571 code - that's your golden ticket! After waiting this long, a few more weeks is nothing. You've got this! πͺ

β’This is so helpful to hear! The way you explained it really makes sense - like the 811 was the big security check and now the 570 is just them finishing up the paperwork. After 300+ days of stress, knowing this part usually only takes 2-3 weeks feels like such a relief. Definitely gonna be refreshing my transcripts daily looking for that 571 code! Thanks for breaking it down in a way that actually gives me hope π

Man, I feel for you after 300+ days of waiting! But honestly, you're in a much better position now than you were before. The 570 after an 811 removal is actually really common - it's basically the IRS doing their final compliance review before releasing your refund. Since they already cleared the identity/income verification (that's what took 300+ days), this final review typically moves way faster - usually 1-3 weeks from what I've seen in this community. Keep checking your transcript for a 571 code, which means the 570 hold is resolved. I know it's frustrating to see another code after all this time, but you're literally in the final stretch now. The hard part is behind you! π

β’This is exactly what I needed to hear right now! π After 300+ days I was starting to think I'd never see that money. The way you explained it - that the hard part (identity verification) is done and this is just final paperwork - actually makes me feel hopeful again. 1-3 weeks sounds like nothing compared to what I've already been through! Gonna be checking for that 571 code every single day now. Thanks for helping me see the light at the end of this very long tunnel! π

I completely understand your frustration after waiting 300+ days - that's absolutely exhausting! But the good news is you're actually in a much better spot now. The 570 code appearing after your 811 freeze was removed is totally normal and expected. Think of it this way: the 811 was the IRS saying "we need to verify your identity and income" (which is what took forever), and now the 570 is just them saying "okay everything checks out, we're doing final processing before sending your refund." This second review typically moves WAY faster - usually 2-4 weeks max since all the heavy lifting is already done. Keep checking your transcripts for a 571 code, which will signal the 570 hold is released. After what you've been through, a few more weeks is nothing! You're literally in the home stretch now π

β’This explanation really helps put things in perspective! After 300+ days of pure anxiety, hearing that the 570 is just final processing and not another major roadblock is such a relief. The way you broke it down - that the identity verification nightmare is over and this is just paperwork - actually makes me feel like I can breathe again. 2-4 weeks feels like nothing compared to what I've already survived! Definitely going to be obsessively checking for that 571 code now. Thank you for giving me hope when I was starting to lose it completely π

OMG 300+ days is absolutely insane! π€ I'm so sorry you've had to go through this nightmare. But honestly, seeing that 811 removal is HUGE - that was the major bottleneck. The 570 after an 811 lift is super common and usually resolves way faster since they've already done all the heavy verification work. I'd expect 2-3 weeks max for this to clear. Keep checking for that 571 code - that's when you'll know you're finally free! After what you've been through, you deserve that refund ASAP. Hang in there, you're so close! π

β’Seriously, 300+ days is just cruel and unusual punishment from the IRS! π‘ But you're absolutely right - that 811 removal is the big milestone. I've been following this sub for months and the pattern is always the same: 811 takes forever, then 570 clears pretty quick. OP has definitely earned some good news after this marathon! Really hoping they see that 571 code pop up soon so they can finally get their money and move on with their life π€

After 300+ days, I can only imagine how mentally exhausting this has been for you! But honestly, you're through the worst of it now. The 570 appearing right after your 811 freeze removal is actually textbook - it's the IRS doing their final review before releasing your refund. Since they already completed the identity/income verification (that's what took 300+ days), this final step typically resolves in 1-3 weeks. I went through something similar last year and the relief when that 571 code finally appeared was incredible! Keep checking your transcripts every few days for that 571 - once you see it, your refund should follow within days. You've already survived the hardest part, just a little bit longer! π

β’This is so reassuring to hear from someone who actually went through the same thing! π After 300+ days I was honestly starting to wonder if I'd ever see that money. The mental exhaustion is real - I've been checking my transcripts like 5 times a day for months lol. Knowing that the 571 code showing up was such a relief for you gives me hope that I'm actually almost done with this nightmare. Definitely going to keep checking every few days like you said. Thanks for sharing your experience - it really helps to know other people made it through this process! π

I've been in your exact shoes! Had an 811 freeze for 280+ days that finally got removed in November, then immediately got hit with a 570 just like you. I was SO frustrated thinking I'd have to start all over again. But here's the thing - that 570 after an 811 removal is actually the IRS saying "we're almost done, just doing final checks." Mine cleared with a 571 code exactly 18 days later and I had my DD 3 days after that. The key difference is the 811 was them verifying your identity/income (the slow part), but the 570 is just final processing now that everything's verified. Keep checking for that 571 code - you're literally weeks away from finally getting your money after this insane wait! π

β’Wow, 18 days is actually not too bad at all after what we've been through! π It's so helpful to hear from someone who went through this exact same sequence - 811 removal followed immediately by 570. I was definitely starting to panic thinking I'd have to restart this whole nightmare process. Your timeline gives me so much hope - if yours cleared in 18 days and DD came 3 days after the 571, that means I could actually have my money by the end of January! After 300+ days that feels like a miracle lol. Thanks for sharing the details, really needed to hear this success story right now! π
