Code 570 (2/26) & 971 (3/4) - Any Daily Updaters Get Movement?

Anybody with code 570 as of date 2/26 & code 971 as of date 3/4 update that's a daily? I know weekly update Friday. Last year I had a similar sequence but was on weekly cycle and it took forever. Been tracking cycles for years since I retired and just wondering if anyone on daily cycle is seeing movement with these codes. Seems like the pattern is different this year compared to previous filing seasons.

The 570 code (Additional Account Action Pending) followed by 971 (Notice Issued) with those specific dates typically indicates a refund hold with a notice being generated. The timing between your codes (7 days) suggests a standard verification process rather than an audit. Daily cycle updates usually post to transcripts between 3-5am EST, while weekly cycles update Thursday night/Friday morning. Your DLN (Document Locator Number) on your transcript will indicate your cycle - if the 4th and 5th digits are 01-04, you're on a daily cycle.

Thanks for this explanation. Very helpful. Been checking every morning. No movement yet. Hoping for resolution soon.

I've seen this pattern before, but does the 7-day gap always mean standard verification? I thought it could also indicate identity verification in some cases, especially when there's no 420 code present.

I had the exact same codes last year with those same date intervals and it took about 14 days after the 971 date for my refund to be released. Have you checked if you have access to the actual notice online? Sometimes they post it to your account before mailing it. I remember being so worried until I could actually see what the notice said!

Did you claim any credits this year? My transcript showed 570 on 2/22 and 971 on 3/1, and I'm also waiting. I claimed exactly $3,750 in Child Tax Credit, and I'm wondering if that's what triggered the hold. I need this refund in exactly 18 days to pay my property taxes. Are you on cycle code 20241505 or something different?

Isn't it ridiculous how impossible it is to get someone at the IRS on the phone these days? I tried calling exactly 23 times last week about my 570/971 codes. Finally used Claimyr.com and got through in about 30 minutes. The agent confirmed my 971 notice was just asking for verification of income which I could handle online. Saved me weeks of wondering what was happening. Worth the fee considering how much time I wasted trying to call myself. https://www.claimyr.com

I've seen these services mentioned before but always wondered if they're actually worth it. Does Claimyr really work consistently? The IRS phone system seems deliberately designed to be impenetrable.

I was super skeptical too but ended up trying it last month when I was about to lose my mind with the constant busy signals. Got through in about 25 minutes! The agent told me my return was just in normal processing despite the codes. Felt like I'd discovered a secret passage or something, lol. Definitely beats the "call at 7am and pray" approach I'd been using.

I was in this exact situation three weeks ago: • 570 code dated 2/12 • 971 code dated 2/19 • Daily cycle (confirmed by my DLN) • Checked transcript every morning at 6am My timeline: • Notice appeared in my IRS account after 4 days • Responded with requested info same day • Codes 571 and 846 appeared exactly 9 days later • Refund deposited 2 days after that I'm a bit worried this delay will affect my quarterly estimated payment schedule.

Have you gotten any physical mail from the IRS yet? Sometimes the 971 is just informational and other times it requires action. My sister had the same codes last month and never actually received anything in the mail, but her refund was processed anyway.

According to Internal Revenue Manual 21.5.6.4.7, the 570 freeze code temporarily prevents credit or refund processing while the 971 indicates that correspondence has been issued. Per IRM 5.19.9.2.3, daily cycle accounts typically update overnight, with transaction codes posting within 24-48 hours of processing. The specific notice you'll receive is likely a CP05, requesting verification of income, withholding, or credits claimed. This is standard procedure under the PATH Act provisions codified in IRC §6402(m) which mandates additional verification for certain refundable credits.

I'm not entirely convinced this is just routine. My accountant warned me that these particular code combinations with this timing often indicate a manual review. Last year it took 11 weeks from the 971 date to get my refund, despite everyone saying it would be 2-3 weeks.

My 570/971 appeared on February 8th and February 15th respectively. I received a CP05 notice dated February 15th that arrived on February 24th. My transcript updated with code 571 (freeze released) on March 12th and code 846 (refund issued) on March 14th with a direct deposit date of March 19th. The entire process took 39 days from filing to refund.

Just went through this exact scenario. TC570 dated 02/19/2024, TC971 dated 02/26/2024. I'm on daily processing cycle 20241105. My transcript updated overnight between 03/11/2024-03/12/2024 with TC571 (freeze release) and TC846 (refund issued) with DDD of 03/14/2024. The hold was due to income verification under PATH Act protocols. No correspondence was required in my case - system verification was completed automatically. Total processing time was 26 days from acceptance to deposit.
