Chime Direct Deposit Timing for IRS Tax Refund - When to Expect Payment?
Got approved for my refund today and I have Chime. Anyone know what time they usually drop the deposits? First time using Chime and getting antsy about when ill see the money hit my account.

Tax pro here - Chime typically releases IRS deposits as soon as they receive them, usually 2-3 days earlier than traditional banks. Most people see deposits between 3PM-6PM EST or sometimes as late as midnight. But there's no guaranteed time.

Hey! Instead of refreshing your account constantly, you should try taxr.ai - it analyzes your transcript and tells you exactly when to expect the deposit. Its only $4.99 and totally worth it for the peace of mind. https://taxr.ai

•Yeah its legit! You upload your transcript and it breaks down everything - even tells you if there might be delays and how to fix them

I've been using Chime for my refunds for 3 years now and honestly the timing is all over the place. Sometimes it hits at 2pm, sometimes 11pm, once it even came at like 5am. The good news is it's usually within 24-48 hours of getting your approval. Just try to stay busy and it'll come when it comes!

•thanks for sharing your experience! definitely helps to know it's normal for the timing to be all over the place. gonna try to distract myself with netflix or something instead of staring at my phone all day 😂

Been there! The anticipation is killer. One thing that helped me was setting up account alerts through the Chime app so I'd get a push notification the second anything hit my account. That way I could actually do other stuff instead of manually checking every few minutes. Your refund will show up soon - Chime is usually pretty quick with IRS deposits!

•@Nick Kravitz that s'solid advice! I just turned on push notifications too. The waiting is honestly the hardest part - way worse than actually filing the return lol. Hopefully it hits soon! 🤞

Same situation here! Just got approved this morning and have been obsessively checking my Chime account every hour. From what I've read online, Chime usually processes IRS refunds pretty quickly - sometimes even before the official "sent" date from the IRS. I'm hoping to see mine hit sometime today or tomorrow. The waiting is brutal though! Good luck with yours! 🤞

•Same here! Got approved this morning too and I swear I've checked my account like 20 times already 😅 Really hoping it comes through today since I've heard Chime can be super fast with these. Let me know when yours hits - would love to know if there's any pattern to when they drop them!

I've been using Chime for tax refunds for the past couple years and from my experience, they're usually pretty good about getting them to you fast! Most of the time I see mine hit between 2-5 PM EST, but like others mentioned it can really vary. Last year mine came at like 9 PM on a Wednesday which was totally random. The nice thing about Chime is they don't hold it for business days like some banks do - once they get it from the IRS, it goes straight to your account. Try not to stress too much, it'll be there soon! 🙂

•@Sean O'Connor thanks for the insight! It's reassuring to hear from someone who's been through this multiple times with Chime. The fact that they don't hold it for business days is definitely a plus. I'm trying not to obsess over it but it's hard when you're expecting money lol. Fingers crossed it hits sometime today! 🤞

Chime user here! I've gotten my refunds through them for the past 2 years and they're definitely faster than traditional banks. Usually hits anywhere from 1-6 PM but I've also seen it come through late at night or early morning. The uncertainty is annoying but the speed makes up for it. You'll probably see it within the next day or two max. Just try to keep yourself busy - watching the account won't make it come any faster! 😊
