Can I file 2024 taxes if 2023 return is still processing?
My 2023 tax return still hasnt been processed yet and is showing as still being reviewed. Getting worried since tax season is coming up again. Can I file my 2024 taxes while my 2023 return is still pending? Anyone else in this situation?

Yes, you can absolutely file your 2024 taxes even if your 2023 return is still processing. The IRS processes each tax year separately. Just make sure you're using the exact numbers from what you filed for 2023, not what you think it might be adjusted to. The pending status of a prior year return doesn't prevent you from filing current year taxes.

•If the 2023 numbers change, the IRS will adjust accordingly. You won't need to amend your 2024 return for that.
