Anyone with cycle code 20240505 received DDD on transcripts yet? (PATH update)
Been tracking my refund like a hawk this year. Filed on January 29th and got accepted same day, but I'm PATH affected with EITC. My transcript updated on March 1st with cycle code 20240505. It's now March 15th and still no DDD showing. Anyone else with the same cycle code see movement yet? Last year I had a similar timeline and got my DDD exactly 14 days after the cycle code appeared. Thanks in advance for any insights!

From what I'm seeing, cycle code 20240505 is still in processing for most filers. This is similar to last year's pattern where PATH returns with early March cycle codes typically saw DDDs around March 18-22. In comparison, non-PATH returns with the same cycle code are already showing DDDs. Your 14-day timeline from previous years is generally accurate, but this year's processing seems to be running about 3-4 days behind last year's schedule.

Are you absolutely certain about that March 18-22 window? I've been checking the IRS2Go app every 4 hours and nothing has changed. Is there any way to know if we're just in normal processing or if there's an actual hold?

I appreciate this breakdown. Honestly, it's frustrating that they can't just give us a straight answer about timelines. I called twice and got different information each time, but your pattern recognition seems more reliable than what the agents told me.

I'm in the same boat with that cycle code. I've prepared for this like a marathon rather than a sprint - gathered all my documentation, checked all the boxes, and still waiting. It's like being stuck in traffic when you can see your destination. My tax preparer said the PATH lift technically happened on February 15th, but the actual processing is like a dam releasing water - not everyone gets through at once. I'd give it until next Wednesday before getting concerned.

Have you considered how much time you're spending checking WMR and transcripts every day? I was doing the same thing last year - checking multiple times daily, getting increasingly frustrated. Couldn't get through to the IRS for weeks. Finally used Claimyr (https://www.claimyr.com) to connect with an agent who confirmed my return was just in normal processing with no issues. Isn't it worth $20 for peace of mind rather than weeks of anxiety? The agent was able to give me a specific timeframe that ended up being accurate.

Does this actually work? I've been calling the IRS for 2 weeks straight and can't get through. At this point I'd pay double that just to talk to someone who can tell me what's going on lol. My car payment is due next week and I was counting on this refund.

I tried it last yr when I had that 570 code and honestly it saved me so much time. The IRS phone system is literally impossible rn. Got thru in like 25 mins instead of spending days redialing. Just make sure u have ur info ready when they connect u.

The PATH Act verification procedures typically follow a structured timeline. Your cycle code 20240505 indicates a weekly processing cycle rather than a daily cycle. For PATH-affected returns, the Refund Processing Pipeline has several checkpoints: initial verification (complete), income documentation matching (likely complete), refundable credit verification (in progress), and final processing (pending). Most returns with your cycle code should see Refund Status Updates between March 16-23 based on current processing metrics.

I have the exact same cycle code and just got my DDD this morning at 3:42am when transcripts updated! It shows a deposit date of March 20th. I claimed exactly $7,621 in EITC and had a cycle code of 20240505 since March 1st. It took precisely 14 days from cycle code to DDD, just like you experienced last year. Check your transcript again - it might have updated overnight. If not, I'd expect it to update within the next 48-72 hours based on the pattern I'm seeing with others in our situation.

Don't panic yet. PATH returns are processed in batches, and they're moving through them now. I'm seeing a clear pattern where cycle code 20240505 is updating this week. Check your transcript tomorrow morning - that's when most updates happen. If nothing by Monday, then consider calling. The system is working, just slower than we'd all like.

Just got my DDD this morning with the same cycle code! According to the IRS Refund Status tracker and r/IRS megathread, most 0505 cycle codes are updating between today and Saturday. The IRS2Go app hasn't updated yet but my transcript shows March 20th deposit date. Based on the IRS Operations Dashboard at https://www.irs.gov/newsroom/irs-operations, they're currently processing returns received week of January 29, which matches your timeline. Check again at 3am - that's when the system refreshes!

OMG I've been pulling my hair out with this EXACT cycle code! 😤 Finally updated this morning with a DDD of 3/20. Been checking literally every hour for two weeks straight. The anxiety was killing me! Last year I had a different cycle code and got my refund way earlier. PATH act is such BS - they hold our money for WEEKS even though they've already verified everything. So relieved it's finally moving!
