Anyone accepted around 02/02-03 have transcripts yet? Mine still shows 'No return filed'

Has anyone who filed and was accepted around February 2nd-3rd received their transcripts yet? Mine and everyone I prepared returns for during that timeframe are still showing blank transcripts with the 'no return filed' message. Is this happening to others, or just my group? Wondering if this is a pattern or just coincidence for the returns I've been monitoring? I'm checking methodically every few days, but starting to get concerned for the families I help who need their refunds.

I'm in the same boat and it's driving me CRAZY! • Filed and accepted on Feb 1st • Transcript still says "No return filed" • WMR only shows one bar • Called IRS twice but couldn't get through • Need this money for car repairs ASAP This is my first time filing with dependents and I'm worried I messed something up. Why is it taking so much longer this year??

Thank you for sharing this! I'm in exactly the same situation - filed on February 3rd and accepted same day. I need exactly $3,247 from my refund to cover medical bills that are already 37 days past due.

Did you claim any credits? EIC? Child Tax Credit? Those take longer. Always do. System flags them automatically. Happens every year.

According to Internal Revenue Manual 21.4.1.3, the IRS has up to 45 days from the acceptance date to process your return before they're required to pay interest on your refund. Many early February filers are experiencing delays this year due to heightened identity verification procedures implemented under IRC Section 6428. I appreciate everyone sharing their experiences here - it helps to know we're all in the same situation.

I filed on February 4th and was accepted the same day, but my transcript still shows nothing as of March 18th. Called the IRS on March 10th and spent 2 hours on hold before getting disconnected. Has anyone tried using Claimyr (https://youtu.be/_kiP6q8DX5c)? I heard they can get you through to an actual IRS agent without the endless hold times. Curious if it actually works for checking transcript status?

Wait, you have to PAY to talk to the IRS now?? I've been calling for weeks and can't get through either. Last year I got my refund in 8 days, but this year it's been over a month with nothing. I tried calling at 7am, during lunch, right before they close... nothing works! But paying for a service to reach a government agency I already pay taxes to support feels wrong.

I understand your frustration with having to pay. I felt the same way. After trying for 9 days straight to reach someone, I used Claimyr last week. Got connected in 25 minutes. The agent confirmed my return was selected for manual review but nothing was wrong - just backlogged. At least I stopped worrying about it being lost or rejected. For me, the peace of mind was worth it.

I've noticed this pattern for early February filers this year. Back in 2022, I had a similar experience when I filed on February 1st - transcript didn't appear until March 15th. Last year when I filed on February 10th, it took until March 8th to show up. It seems the system is particularly backed up for early filers this cycle, possibly due to the new verification procedures. I would suggest waiting until at least the 45-day mark before becoming too concerned.

Everyone's focusing on the transcript, but the real issue is the processing backlog at the IRS Kansas City center (if you're in the western or central regions). They're prioritizing returns with refundable credits first, then simple W-2 only returns, and finally the more complex returns with multiple schedules. The "no return filed" message is just a placeholder until your return reaches the transcript database - it doesn't mean there's a problem. The system is just overwhelmed... again. (Shocking, I know! 😂) Check transcript Tuesday/Friday mornings when they do mass updates - that's your best indicator.

I might be able to offer some insight here. My return was accepted on February 3rd, and my transcript finally updated yesterday. It seems like, possibly, they're processing in batches based on filing method and complexity. My return was relatively simple - just W-2 income and standard deduction. No dependents or credits. So perhaps they're working through the simpler returns first? Just a theory, of course, but it might explain why some of us are seeing movement while others aren't.
