Amended Return + ID Verify: No Movement Since July - Tax Advocate Says Wait 180 Days?

Filed and verified identity in May, then amended in June. Nothing has moved since July. Called tax advocate and they said I have to wait the full 180 days from verification date. That puts me at November 10th before I can expect any movement. Anyone else dealing with this?

Wait till Nov 10th then go STRAIGHT to your local congressman's office. They can light a fire under the IRS better than anyone else tbh

Refund Approved But Won't Be Mailed Until December 7th After Filing in March - Need It Sooner

Filed my taxes back in March and still no refund. The WMR tool just shows processing and my transcript hasn't updated at all. I just checked my Refund Status online and it shows: Refund Status Return Received ✓ Refund Approved ✓ Refund Sent Your tax refund is scheduled to be mailed by December 7, 2024. If you do not receive the refund by January 4, 2025, please contact us again. We are unable to take any action until then. Please Note: For refund information, please continue to check here, or visit IRS.gov/Refunds. Updates to refund status are made no more than once a day. Really need this money before December 7th. I was counting on having it much sooner since I filed in March. Anyone know if there's any hope to speed up the process, or am I just stuck waiting until December? Is there a way to change to direct deposit at this point instead of waiting for a mailed check? I don't understand why it's taking so long when I filed electronically 8 months ago. This is ridiculous!

Check if you have any 570/971 codes on your account transcript. Those usually mean there's some kind of hold up they need to review.

IRS removed hold but transcript still shows no update - anyone else?

Called the IRS and finally got through to the refund department. Rep said they removed the hold on my refund a week ago, but when I check my transcript there's still no update or deposit date. Starting to wonder if the rep was just telling me what I wanted to hear.

Did they give you any specific code or reason for the hold? Sometimes that makes a difference in processing time

Amended Return from July 2022 - No Updates, Still Waiting (570/971)

Filed my amended return back in July 2022 and still zero movement on my transcript. Called the IRS multiple times but keep getting the generic response to just wait. The Where's My Amended Return tool shows nothing. This is ridiculous its been almost 2 years now.

My amended return took 23 months to process... finally got my refund last week. hang in there

IRS Review Message: "Tax Topic 151, Your Appeal Rights" Instead of Normal Processing - Anyone Dealt With This?

I keep checking wheres my refund tool and getting this message saying they cant provide any information about my refund. Filed early February with direct deposit and its been stuck like this for weeks. Getting worried because this is different than the usual processing message. When I check the IRS website (sa.www4.irs.gov), I'm getting a really concerning status screen. Under "Refund Status Results" it shows: Return Received: ✓ Refund Approved: ? Refund Sent: ? Then there's this message: "We have received your tax return and it is being reviewed." Under "Helpful Information" it says: "Please read the following information related to your tax situation: Tax Topic 151, Your Appeal Rights" It even has a "Contact Us" section saying I need to have: - A copy of this page - A copy of my tax return - The Social Security Number, Filing Status, and refund amount claimed This seems more serious than the normal "still processing" message. Has anyone else seen this Tax Topic 151 reference? I'm really concerned about what this "review" means and why they're mentioning appeal rights. Anyone else dealing with this or know what it means?

Its probably cuz their systems are overloaded. My tax lady said February filers are having mad delays this year smh
