570 Code on Transcript for 21 Days - Wage Transcript Not Showing - Income Verification?
I've been monitoring my tax transcript daily for exactly 21 days now with a 570 hold code that hasn't budged. What's particularly concerning is that my wage transcript isn't showing up at all in the system. Based on my research, this could indicate they're verifying my income - I need this resolved ASAP due to upcoming medical expenses. Has anyone experienced this specific combination of issues? I've documented everything meticulously and am prepared to advocate for proper processing if they're unnecessarily delaying my legitimate refund.

I've seen this happen before, especially during this time of year. On March 12th, my transcript showed the same 570 code, and I was worried too. The missing wage transcript often means they're comparing what your employer reported against what you filed. Have you checked that all your W-2s were properly reported by your employers? Sometimes there's a delay in employer reporting that causes this verification hold.

I had something similar happen this year, though it might be somewhat different in your case. My wage transcript was visible, but there was still a 570 code placed on my account. It appears that the IRS might be conducting what they call an income verification review, which is relatively common when there are potential discrepancies between what employers report and what taxpayers claim. Did you perhaps work multiple jobs or have any significant changes in income compared to previous years?

This could possibly be related to the IRS income verification program. When your wage transcript isn't appearing, it sometimes indicates that the IRS is still processing employer-submitted information. I would suggest waiting another week or so before taking any action, as these verification holds typically resolve themselves once all information is properly matched in their system. Though I understand the urgency with your medical expenses, rushing the process might unfortunately not help in this particular situation.

Thank you for this explanation. I'm concerned about the implications of these verification processes. According to Publication 5199, the IRS is supposed to complete income verification within 14 days of receipt. The 21-day hold described here exceeds their own guidelines, which could be grounds for taxpayer advocate intervention.

Thanks for explaining this! I'm in a similar situation and was panicking. My situation: • Filed on February 15th • Got 570 code on March 1st • No wage transcript visible • No updates since then Should I be worried or is this still within normal timeframes?

OMG the EXACT same thing happened to me! I was freaking out about my 570 code and missing wage transcript for almost 4 weeks! I tried calling the IRS like 37 times and kept getting disconnected or waiting for hours! I finally used Claimyr (https://youtu.be/_kiP6q8DX5c) and got through to an actual agent in like 25 minutes! They confirmed they were just verifying my income because I had switched jobs mid-year. The agent put a note on my account to expedite the review. My transcript updated 3 days later and I got my refund the following week!

Does this service actually work? I'm always suspicious of third-party services that claim to get you through to the IRS faster. Couldn't you just keep calling the IRS yourself and eventually get through?

How much does Claimyr cost? It's like paying a locksmith when you're locked out of your house - necessary sometimes but you want to know the price before committing.

Did the IRS agent tell you exactly why they were verifying? Was it just the job change? I switched jobs too. Need to know if that's what triggered it.

Last year I had a similar situation with the 570 code and missing wage transcript. I waited patiently thinking it would resolve itself, but after 6 weeks I discovered my employer had reported my wages under an incorrect SSN. The verification process caught this, but I wish I had been more proactive. Once I contacted my employer and they submitted a correction, it took another 3 weeks to process. If I had addressed it earlier, I would have received my refund much sooner. Don't make the same mistake I did by assuming the system will fix itself.

I'm currently on day 42 with a 570 code. My wage transcript finally appeared on day 35, and 2 days later I got a 571 code (release of hold). The IRS was verifying my income because I had exactly $24,650 in gig work income this year alongside my regular W-2. They wanted to make sure all my 1099s were properly reported. My refund was deposited exactly 5 business days after the 571 code appeared. The verification added exactly 37 days to my processing time compared to last year.

Thank you for sharing this timeline! It's so helpful to see the exact process someone went through. I'm in a similar situation with gig work and was getting worried, but your experience makes me feel much better about the wait. Sounds like I just need to be patient a bit longer.
