180+ days waiting for refund - need direct IRS contact number that actually works
I filed my taxes and its been over 180 days with no updates at all. Anyone know a number where I can actually talk to someone? The main number just keeps hanging up on me saying their too busy.

Try calling 1-877-777-4778. Its the Taxpayer Advocate Service line. Best time to call is right when they open at 7am EST. Keep trying even if you get a busy signal - took me 3 days but finally got through.
