How to get DEO income verification for SNAP mid-certification?

I'm on unemployment and just got a notice from DCF that I need to verify my 'weekly gross income' for my food stamps mid-certification review. Does anyone know the best way to get this from DEO? Would a screenshot from my CONNECT account work or do I need an official letter? The DCF caseworker wasn't clear about what exactly they'd accept and I'm worried about my benefits getting cut off if I don't provide the right documentation. My review is due in 11 days and I'm starting to panic!

Thanks! Did you just do a screenshot or did you actually print it out and scan it to them? My caseworker said something about needing to see YTD totals but I'm not sure if CONNECT even shows that.

For SNAP mid-certification reviews, you'll need official documentation that shows your weekly benefit amount (WBA). Login to CONNECT and go to "View and Maintain Account Information" then select "Determination, Monetary and Issue Summary." From there, you can print the page that shows your weekly benefit amount. This is usually sufficient for DCF as it's an official record. Alternatively, you can request an official income verification letter by calling DEO directly, but with only 11 days left, that might be cutting it close since they can take 7-10 business days to mail it.

This is correct. I used to work at DCF and we regularly accepted the CONNECT determination page as proof for SNAP. Just make sure it clearly shows your name, claim information, and weekly benefit amount. If you're worried about it being accepted, call your caseworker directly and ask if they'll accept a screenshot from CONNECT. Get their name when you call so you can reference who told you it was acceptable if there's any issue later.

I had this EXACT same problem last month!! The DCF people and the DEO people kept sending me back and forth to each other and nobody could give me a straight answer. I ended up having to go to my local CareerSource office and they helped me print out the right documentation. Turns out DCF wanted to see my payment history for the last 4 weeks, not just my weekly amount. So frustrating!!!

This is why I HATE dealing with these government agencies!!! They never communicate with each other but expect US to magically know what they want. Last time I had to recertify they put my food stamps on hold for THREE WEEKS because the verification I sent wasn't "official" enough. Meanwhile my kids are hungry and I'm spending hours on the phone trying to get through to someone who can help. THE SYSTEM IS BROKEN!

If you're having trouble reaching DEO to get the verification you need, I'd recommend trying Claimyr. It's a service that helps you get through to a live agent at DEO without waiting on hold for hours. I was in a similar situation with needing income verification for my apartment renewal, and I was able to get through to someone at DEO in about 20 minutes using their service. They have a video that shows how it works here: https://youtu.be/UzW_hbUy-ss?si=zORd51jeq1GX5Ldj and the website is claimyr.com. The agent I spoke with was able to email me an official income verification letter the same day.

I've never heard of that service before. Does it actually work? I've tried calling DEO at least 5 times this week and either get disconnected or told the wait time is over 2 hours.

Yes, it definitely worked for me. I was skeptical too but was desperate after trying for days to get through. They basically hold your place in line and call you when they've got an agent on the line. The DEO representative I spoke with was able to email me the verification letter right away, which was perfect for my deadline situation like yours.

While screenshots sometimes work, for official purposes like SNAP recertification, it's better to use the proper documentation. The "Determination, Monetary and Issue Summary" page from CONNECT is what DCF typically requires because it has all the official information displayed in a format they recognize. Screenshots from other sections might be missing key verification elements they need.

When I had to do this last year I went to my local DCF office and they actually helped me print everything right there. They have computers you can use and the staff showed me exactly what pages they needed from CONNECT. Saved me so much stress! Maybe try that if you're still confused?

That's a good idea, I didn't realize they offered that service. The DCF office near me is about 40 minutes away, but if I can't figure this out online it might be worth the trip. Thanks for the suggestion!

To summarize what everyone has said: 1. The best document is the "Determination, Monetary and Issue Summary" from your CONNECT account 2. Make sure it shows your name, claim ID, and weekly benefit amount 3. For a mid-certification review, they typically want to see 4 weeks of payment history 4. You can print this directly from CONNECT or save as PDF 5. If you absolutely need an official letter, you'll need to contact DEO directly One more thing: take a screenshot of your submission confirmation when you upload these documents to DCF's portal. I've seen cases where they claim they never received documentation that was definitely submitted. Having that confirmation can save you a lot of hassle if there's any dispute later.

Thank you for this super clear breakdown! I was able to find the right page in CONNECT and downloaded the PDF. I'll definitely take screenshots of my submission confirmation too - that's a really smart tip I wouldn't have thought of. Fingers crossed this works!
