DEO CONNECT stuck on July 2025 employment question - can't complete determination section
Has anyone else gotten trapped in the determination section when trying to finish their DEO application? I'm completely stuck on this question about my employment as of July 11, 2025. The system keeps asking if I was working on that date, but I've been laid off since March 2025 when the restaurant I managed closed down. I entered my work history (Sept 2023 to March 2025) but the application won't let me proceed past this July 2025 question no matter what I select! I've tried 'yes' and 'no' and neither one lets me continue. It's driving me crazy because I need to get this claim processed ASAP. My rent is due next week and I'm completely out of savings. I've emailed the DEO general inbox twice with no response. Anyone know a workaround or who I should contact to fix this glitch?

•Thanks for the tip, I'll try that tonight. Did you have to start the whole application over again or were you able to pick up where you left off?

This is a known issue with the latest CONNECT update. The system is incorrectly validating future dates against current employment status. I had the exact same problem with my claim last month. You won't be able to fix this yourself - you need to speak directly with a DEO claims specialist who can override that section on their end. The easiest way to reach someone is to call right when they open at 7:30am, but even then you'll probably get a busy signal. I literally had to call 47 times before getting through. Once you get a human, ask specifically for a "determination override" for the July 2025 employment question. They'll know exactly what you're talking about.

•Thanks for explaining what's happening! I've been trying to call for 3 days already but only get busy signals or the automated system that eventually hangs up on me. Is there a direct number for claims specialists or do I just use the main DEO number?

I spent TWO WEEKS trying to get past this exact issue! The DEO phone system is completely broken - I called over 200 times and never got through to a real person. What finally worked for me was using Claimyr. It's a service that basically calls DEO for you and gets you in the queue to speak with an agent. Cost me a little bit but was worth every penny because I got through to someone in about 20 minutes who fixed the issue right away. They have a demo video of how it works here: https://youtu.be/UzW_hbUy-ss?si=zORd51jeq1GX5Ldj and their website is claimyr.com if you want to check it out. Once I finally got an agent on the phone, they were able to override that July 2025 question and push my application through to processing immediately.

•I used that service too! Lifesaver after spending DAYS trying to get through on my own. The DEO rep I talked to said this July date issue is affecting hundreds of people right now.

This is a programming error in the system that happened after the most recent update. Let me clarify what's happening and how to resolve it: 1. The system is incorrectly asking about employment status on a future date (July 11, 2025), which obviously no one can accurately answer. 2. This is specifically happening in the "Determination" section because the system is mistakenly using future reference dates instead of past dates. 3. You absolutely CANNOT fix this yourself by trying different answers or clearing cache - it's a server-side error that requires administrative intervention. 4. What you need is a claims specialist to manually override this section. They have a specific tool that allows them to bypass the validation error. 5. If you're having trouble reaching someone by phone, another option is to email Reemployment.Assistance@deo.myflorida.com with the subject line "URGENT: DETERMINATION SECTION ERROR - FUTURE DATE VALIDATION" and include your claimant ID, full name, last 4 of SSN, and a brief explanation of the issue. 6. You can also try reaching out to your state representative's office. Many have staff dedicated to helping constituents with DEO issues, and they often have direct contact with DEO supervisors. Don't waste time trying to answer the question differently - it's literally impossible to get past this error without help from DEO staff.

•Thank you so much for this detailed explanation! I just sent an email with that exact subject line and all my info. I'll also try contacting my state rep tomorrow if I don't hear back. It's such a relief to know I'm not doing something wrong - it really is a system error.

Are you sure you're entering all your past employment dates correctly? I had trouble with the determination section too but it was because I had my end date wrong for one of my jobs. Double check all your employment history dates before you start calling and emailing everyone!

•This isn't a user error. It's a known system bug in the latest CONNECT update that's asking about employment status on July 11, 2025 - a date that hasn't happened yet. No amount of correcting past employment dates will fix this because the system is literally asking about a future date.

I just got through this exact issue yesterday!!! The solution isn't what anyone has posted so far. Here's what you need to do: 1. Log in to CONNECT 2. Go to the "Determination Pending" section 3. Click "Request Staff Review" 4. In the text box, write: "System error on July 2025 employment question - unable to proceed with claim submission. Please override and process claim based on entered work history." 5. Submit the request 6. IMPORTANT: Wait 24-48 hours without trying to edit or resubmit anything They fixed mine without me having to call at all. A DEO staff member told me they're aware of the issue and are prioritizing these requests because it's affecting so many claims right now. Just be patient after submitting the review request.

•This sounds promising! I just followed your steps and submitted the staff review request with that exact wording. Fingers crossed they fix it without me having to keep calling. I'll update here if it works for me too. Thank you!!!

The DEO system is such a JOKE!! First they can't handle regular volume of claims, now they're asking about jobs we might have IN THE FUTURE?? My tax dollars hard at work 🙄 I'm dealing with an "overpayment" issue right now which is a whole other nightmare.

UPDATE: I finally got this resolved! For anyone else stuck on this July 2025 question, here's what worked: I ended up using Claimyr to reach a DEO agent after trying everything else. Got connected to someone in about 30 minutes. The agent confirmed it's a known system error and manually overrode that section. My claim is now processing! She said they're working on a fix but it might not be deployed for weeks, so getting an agent to manually fix it is currently the fastest solution.

•Glad you got it resolved! This is good information for others facing the same issue. Did they give you any indication of when your first payment might be processed now that the application is complete?
