DEO CONNECT links to EmployFlorida erased my work search records - any way to recover?
I'm beyond frustrated with this whole system! I spent about 7 hours between Friday and today carefully documenting all my work search activities in EmployFlorida after being directed there from my CONNECT account. I added detailed info for all 5 required weekly job applications, updated my resume, and even completed some of their suggested trainings. Now I log in today to print proof for my claim and EVERYTHING IS GONE! No record of my applications, resume edits disappeared, and now my claim week is about to close. Has anyone else had EmployFlorida erase their work search records? Is there any way to recover this info or am I going to get penalized because their system is broken? I've tried calling DEO but just get the automated message saying call volume is too high.

OMG same thing happened 2 me last month!! That site is GARBAGE. I ended up having to redo everything and take screenshots every step.

•Did they accept your claim after you redid everything? I'm worried they'll deny me for not having the records since the deadline is tomorrow!

EmployFlorida and CONNECT don't actually sync data like they're supposed to. Here's what you need to do: 1. Take screenshots of EVERYTHING going forward 2. Don't use the direct link from CONNECT - go directly to employflorida.com 3. Create a separate work search log in Word or Excel that you maintain yourself 4. When entering work searches in CONNECT, you can manually type them - you don't have to use EmployFlorida records Unfortunately, I don't think there's a way to recover what you lost. Their system doesn't keep proper backups. Best to recreate what you can remember and document everything going forward.

•Thank you for the detailed advice. I didn't realize I could just manually enter the work searches in CONNECT. I'll start doing that and keeping my own records. So frustrating that these systems don't work together properly!

The EmployFlorida site literally crashed while I was uploading my resume last week and somehow managed to corrupt my entire profile. Had to create a new account with a different email just to get it working again. DEO seriously needs to invest in better technology.

I've been dealing with Florida's unemployment system for years (unfortunately had to claim benefits three separate times), and I've learned that you should NEVER trust EmployFlorida to store anything important. Here's my system that's worked perfectly: 1. Create a dedicated email folder for all job applications 2. Save PDF confirmations of every application 3. Keep a simple spreadsheet with date, company, position, and contact info 4. Enter work searches directly into CONNECT 5. If they ever question your work search, you have documentation ready Also, for your current situation - call DEO first thing in the morning (7:29am, right before they open) to explain what happened. If you can't get through, I've had success with Claimyr (claimyr.com) - they have a system that gets you connected to a live agent without the endless busy signals. They have a video showing how it works: https://youtu.be/UzW_hbUy-ss?si=zORd51jeq1GX5Ldj Don't stress too much - most DEO agents understand the system issues and will work with you if you can explain what happened.

DEO and EmployFlorida are technically separate systems even though they're supposed to work together. I called about this exact issue and the DEO agent told me they've been having "integration problems" since their last update in January 2025. If your claim is due soon, just manually enter the work search details in CONNECT with as much information as you can remember. As long as you're truthful about the companies you applied to, you should be fine. They rarely verify unless they have specific reason to doubt your claim.

Hey there! I work at CareerSource Broward (we're connected to the EmployFlorida system) and unfortunately this is a known issue that's been happening since their server migration last month. The technical team is working on it, but many users have reported similar problems. Two important things to know: 1. For DEO purposes, you can manually enter your work searches directly in CONNECT - you don't need to use the EmployFlorida integration 2. Some users have reported that their info reappears after 24-48 hours (it's in the database but not displaying correctly) If you're claiming weeks right now, go ahead and enter the information manually in CONNECT. If you're worried about verification later, most DEO agents are aware of these technical issues and will take that into consideration.

•Thank you! It's good to hear this from someone who works with the system. I'll manually enter what I can remember into CONNECT and hope they don't give me trouble about it. I appreciate everyone's help!

i had this happen and its so annoying!!! i think its because if you dont SAVE after each section it doesnt keep anything. like you have to hit save on resume, then hit save on job history, then hit save on applications. if you just hit next it doesn't save anything! the whole system is terrible, i started just taking pictures of everything with my phone so i have proof

After you manually enter your work searches in CONNECT for this week, I strongly recommend keeping separate records going forward. I've been using a simple Google Doc with columns for: - Date of application - Company name - Position title - Method of contact (online, email, in-person) - Contact person (if available) - Result/follow-up This way, even when DEO or EmployFlorida systems fail (which happens regularly), you're protected. Remember that DEO requires 5 work search activities per week for regular unemployment, and they must be completed and documented during the specific week you're claiming.

•Thank you! I've started a spreadsheet based on your suggestion. It's ridiculous we have to create workarounds for their broken systems, but at least this way I'll be protected going forward.
