Best time to call Florida DEO that actually gets through to a real agent?
I've been trying to reach DEO for THREE WEEKS about my missing payments and I'm getting absolutely nowhere! Called at 7:30am when they first open, called at lunchtime, called at 4pm before they close - all I get is 'all agents are busy' and then it hangs up on me! 😡 I need to talk to someone about my adjudication status and why my payments suddenly stopped after being fine for months. Has anyone actually managed to get through? What time works? Do I need to call exactly at 7:29am or something? This is driving me CRAZY.

•Thanks, I'll try 8:15 tomorrow. Did you have to try multiple times or did you get through on the first try?

I've had the best luck on Wednesdays around 2:30-3:00 PM. I think that's when they have more staff available or something. Mondays and Fridays are absolutely impossible - everyone's calling on those days. Also, make sure you have all your claim information ready (claimant ID, PIN, last employer info, and dates of employment) because when you do get through, they'll ask for verification before helping with anything. Good luck!

•That's really helpful, thank you! I'll definitely try Wednesday afternoon. I've been so focused on mornings I didn't think about afternoons being potentially better.

Is ur CONNECT account showing anything? Mine kept saying pending for adjudication and calling didnt help at ALL cause nobody knew what was happening. I finally saw on my account there was an "action item" i had to complete for wage verification that I never saw before. Check ur inbox and account dashboard?????

•Hmm, I didn't see any action items but I'll check again! My CONNECT just shows "Active" status but no payments processing for 3 weeks now. The Determination Status just says "Pending" with no other info.

I gave up on calling DEO completely. Spent 13 hours over 2 weeks trying to get through. Such a waste of time and so frustrating. Does anyone know if there's an email that works? The one on their website seems to go into a black hole.

•Omg try claimyr.com!! It worked for me after 3 weeks of trying to get through. They get you in the phone queue without having to redial a million times. They have a video demo at https://youtu.be/UzW_hbUy-ss?si=zORd51jeq1GX5Ldj that shows how it works. I was super skeptical but was desperate and got connected to DEO in about 30 mins. The agent resolved my adjudication issue right away once I actually talked to someone.

The absolute best time to contact DEO is Tuesday or Wednesday between 10:30 AM - 11:45 AM. Avoid Mondays entirely - that's when everyone who had issues over the weekend is calling. Fridays are also extremely busy with people checking on payments before the weekend. When you call, select the option for "Information about existing claims" rather than "File a new claim" as those queues are prioritized differently. Also, if your issue involves adjudication, make sure to specifically mention that your claim has a "pending adjudication status requiring agent review" when you do get through. If you've had a sudden payment stoppage after receiving payments regularly, this is often triggered by one of these issues: 1. Work search verification was flagged 2. New employment was reported by your former employer 3. Quarterly wage verification requirements 4. Random eligibility audit Check your CONNECT inbox for any fact-finding questionnaires that might have been sent. Missing those deadlines can automatically halt payments.

•Wow, thank you for such detailed information! I'll definitely try Tuesday at 10:30. I think it might be the quarterly wage verification since it's been about 3 months since I started claiming. I'll check for any fact-finding questionnaires too - I might have missed something.

I spent 2 weeks trying to call with NO LUCK WHATSOEVER. Then my friend told me to try again 4 minutes before they open (so 7:26am) and start hitting the options to get in queue exactly at 7:30. It worked!! Got through on my second try. The whole system is ridiculous though. Why don't they have a callback option like normal customer service?!

•I tried the early morning trick too and it didn't work for me at all. Just got the same automated message and hangup. I think it's just random luck at this point. The whole system needs to be rebuilt from scratch.

•I didn't realize CareerSource could help with this! There's one about 20 mins from me. I'll try there tomorrow if I can't get through on the phone. Thanks for the suggestion!

I've been dealing with DEO issues for months and here's what finally worked for me: Try calling exactly at 8:47 AM on Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday. I know it sounds oddly specific, but I think it's right after their morning briefing ends and before the lunch rush starts. Also, when you get the automated menu, press 1-3-2 (not the obvious options) to get to a different queue that seems less busy. I got through 3 times using this method when nothing else worked. Make sure you have your Social Security number, claimant ID, and the exact dates of your last 3 employers ready because they'll verify everything before discussing your case. The agents are actually helpful once you reach them - it's just getting through that's the nightmare! Don't give up, you'll get there eventually.

•This is super helpful! I'm going to try the 8:47 AM time and that specific button sequence (1-3-2) tomorrow. I never would have thought to try a different menu path. Really appreciate you sharing the exact process that worked for you - gives me hope that I'll actually get through soon!

I feel your frustration so much! I went through the exact same thing last month - three weeks of calling with no luck. What finally worked for me was using the redial apps on my phone (like Auto Redial for Android) starting at exactly 7:30 AM on Tuesday mornings. I set it to redial every 30 seconds while I did other things, and usually got through within 45 minutes to an hour. Also, when you do get connected, immediately ask to speak with a Tier 2 specialist about adjudication issues - the first level agents often can't access the detailed claim information you need. They'll transfer you but it saves time explaining your situation twice. One more tip: if your payments stopped suddenly after months of receiving them, there's probably a specific trigger in the system that needs manual review. Write down the exact date your last payment was processed - the agent will need that info to pull up what happened. Hang in there, you WILL get through eventually!

•This is amazing advice, thank you so much! I had no idea about asking for a Tier 2 specialist right away - that could save me from having to explain everything multiple times. I'm definitely going to try the auto redial app approach on Tuesday morning. My last payment was processed on March 10th and then nothing after that, so I'll have that date ready. It's so reassuring to hear from someone who went through the exact same situation and actually got it resolved. Gives me hope that this nightmare will end soon!

I actually got through last week using a combination of strategies from this thread! Called on Wednesday at 2:45 PM (like Hiroshi suggested) but used the auto redial app (thanks Mae!) and got connected in about 20 minutes. The key was asking immediately for a Tier 2 specialist when I got through - turned out I had a pending fact-finding questionnaire buried in my CONNECT inbox that I completely missed. The agent was able to complete it over the phone and my payments resumed within 48 hours. For anyone still struggling: definitely check your CONNECT inbox thoroughly, even old messages from weeks ago. Sometimes the questionnaires get mixed in with general notifications and are easy to miss. Also bring up your last payment date right away - it helps them locate the exact issue faster. Don't lose hope, the system is broken but once you reach an actual person they can usually fix things quickly!

•This gives me so much hope! I'm definitely going to dig deeper into my CONNECT inbox tonight - you're right that those questionnaires can easily get buried with all the other notifications. I never thought to look at older messages. Wednesday afternoon seems to be the magic time based on what you and @Hiroshi Nakamura experienced. I m'going to try the 2:45 PM slot tomorrow with the auto redial app and ask for Tier 2 right away. Thank you for sharing your success story - it s'exactly what I needed to hear after weeks of frustration!
