CDLE fraud hold on unemployment claim - need to certify ASAP, help!
Hey everyone, I'm in a bit of a pickle with my unemployment claim. The state put a hold on it due to potential fraud. I've already sent in all the documents they asked for, but I'm worried about getting it resolved quickly. I need to certify this weekend and I'm not sure what to do. Has anyone else dealt with this? Any advice on how to speed up the process or what to say when I call?

Ugh, I feel your pain. I went through something similar last month. It's so frustrating when you're just trying to get by and they throw these roadblocks at you. Have you tried calling them directly? Sometimes getting a real person on the line can help move things along.

Thanks for the sympathy. I've been trying to call but keep getting stuck in this endless phone tree. It's driving me crazy! 😫

Pro tip: call right when they open. You might have a better chance of getting through before the lines get jammed.

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/W4S1W6V2hOQ

Sounds too good to be true. Has anyone else tried this?

20 bucks? That's kinda steep just to make a phone call...

I know it sounds sketchy, but I swear it worked for me. Saved me hours of frustration. Worth every penny imho.

How long did you have to wait once they connected you?

It took about 45 minutes total, but I was able to do other stuff while waiting for the callback. Way better than being stuck on hold myself.

Here's what worked for me: 1. Gather all your documents - paystubs, ID, anything they might ask for 2. Call first thing in the morning (like 7:59 AM) 3. Be super polite but firm with the rep 4. Ask for a supervisor if the first person can't help 5. Keep a log of every call - date, time, who you spoke to It took me about a week of persistence, but I finally got it sorted. Don't give up!

This is really helpful, thank you! I'll definitely try calling early. Did you have to do anything special to get a supervisor on the line?

Not really, I just politely asked if there was a supervisor available who could help expedite my case due to the urgency. Sometimes you gotta be a squeaky wheel (but a nice one)!

Have you tried reaching out to your local state representative? Sometimes they can help cut through the red tape.

I hadn't even thought of that! Do you know how I would go about contacting them?

Just google '[your area] state representative' and you should find their office contact info. Usually they have staff dedicated to helping constituents with stuff like this.

Hang in there, buddy. It's tough but you'll get through this. Have you considered legal aid?

PSA: Be careful about what info you share when trying to verify your identity. Scammers are taking advantage of all this confusion. Never give out your full SSN over the phone!

Good point! I got a call last week that seemed fishy. Always better to call them directly using the number from the official website.

anybody else notice how the unemployment website is always "under maintenance" when you actually need to use it? 🙄

omg yes! It's like they know exactly when I'm gonna log in and shut it down just to mess with me 😂

Pro tip: try using it late at night or early morning. Less traffic, fewer issues.
