SDI paperwork sent month ago, no verification, account 'unavailable' - how to actually reach someone?

I sent in all my disability paperwork over a month ago but still haven't gotten any verification to pay. When I call the phone service, it just says my account is 'unavailable.' I'm so frustrated! I really need this money. Has anyone else dealt with this? Any advice on how to actually get through to a real person?

Ugh, I feel your pain. The disability office is a nightmare to deal with. I was in the same boat a few months ago. Have you tried calling right when they open? Sometimes that works better.

Yeah, I've tried that a few times. No luck so far 😞 It's like they don't want us to reach them!

Pro tip: call at 7:59am, then hit redial constantly until you get through. It's annoying but it worked for me eventually.

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone! I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/Ize0EkN4HDI

Sounds too good to be true. Is this legit? Has anyone else tried it?

$20 just to talk to someone? That's ridiculous. The government should do better.

I know it sounds sketchy, but I swear it worked for me. After weeks of trying, I was desperate enough to try anything. It's worth it if you really need to get through.

Can confirm, I used this too. Saved me hours of frustration. Sometimes you gotta pay to play 🤷‍♂️

Have you tried reaching out to your local state representative? Sometimes they can help push things through faster. It's worth a shot!

The whole system is a joke. I've been waiting for 3 months now. No updates, no responses to emails, nothing. It's like they want us to give up. 🤬

Preach! 🙌 It's almost like they're hoping we'll just go away if they ignore us long enough.

Have you guys tried contacting your local news station? Sometimes public pressure can get things moving.

Here's what worked for me after dealing with this bs for weeks: 1. Document everything. Keep a log of all your calls, emails, and attempts to contact them. 2. File a formal complaint through their website. Make sure to include all the details. 3. Reach out to your state representative AND senator. Send them a detailed email explaining your situation. 4. If you can afford it, use one of those paid services to get through on the phone. It sucks to pay, but sometimes it's worth it. 5. Be persistent. Call every day if you have to. 6. If all else fails, consider contacting a disability lawyer. Some offer free consultations. Hang in there, OP. The system is broken, but don't give up!

Thank you so much for this detailed advice! I'll definitely try these steps. It's exhausting, but I guess I have no choice but to keep pushing.

I'm sorry you're dealing with this. The disability office is seriously understaffed and overworked right now. Not an excuse, but might explain the delays. Keep pushing!
