How do I backdate my claim ?

You can do online or over the phone but I heard one person here she called Edd to request a backdate but they told her to do online. and the other person shared that edd said no more backdate but it’s turned out a lie. People still do that. If you do online,  go to https://askedd.edd.ca.gov/ ,  click on the Category "Unemployment Insurance Benefits,"  then click on the Subcategory "Claim Questions,"  then select the Topic "Backdate the Effective Date of my Claim Due to COVID-19" and  click "Continue" to fill out claim information and type "Backdate my claim to mm/dd/yyyy" in the space provided for the new claim to start immediately after the previous claim's ending date. After online request subimitted, it’s better to call Edd to make sure they received. I called Edd and confirmed it was submitted successfully.
