EDD payments suddenly denied - what's going on?

Hey everyone, I'm having trouble with my unemployment payments. They're being denied for some reason and I'm not sure why. Has anyone else experienced this? I got a notice from EDD but I'm confused about what it means. Any advice on what to do next?

I found a way to solve EDD payment denial issues, watch this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7IoWsBLS_GY

Ugh, I'm in the same boat. My payments have been denied too and I have no idea why. It's so frustrating! Have you tried calling EDD? I've been trying for days but can't get through.

Calling EDD is like trying to win the lottery 🤡 I swear they never pick up!

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone! I used this site called claimyr.com. It's a calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to your phone. It costs $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/Ize0EkN4HDI

Wait, seriously? $20 just to talk to someone? That seems kinda sketchy...

I know it sounds weird, but I swear it's legit. I was desperate and it actually worked for me. Saved me hours of frustration.

Have you checked your UI Online account? Sometimes there's more info there about why payments are denied. Could be an identity verification issue or something like that.

Bruh, the EDD system is so broken 🤮 I've been dealing with payment issues for months now. It's like they want us to give up!

Here's what you need to do: 1. Check your UI Online account for any pending tasks or messages 2. Make sure all your certifications are up to date 3. Double-check that your identity verification is complete 4. Look for any overpayment notices 5. If you can't find any obvious issues, you'll need to contact EDD directly If you can't get through on the phone, try sending a message through your UI Online account. It might take a while, but they usually respond eventually. Hang in there! The system is frustrating, but don't give up. You'll get it sorted out eventually.

This is great advice. I wish I had known all this when I first started having issues!

Have you considered that it might be due to the new bill that passed? I heard they changed some eligibility requirements. Might be worth looking into.

Wait, what new bill? I haven't heard about this. Can you share more info?

I don't remember the exact details, but I saw something on the news about changes to unemployment benefits. Maybe someone else here knows more?

Idk if this helps, but I had a similar issue last year. Turns out I had accidentally reported some info wrong on one of my certifications. Once I got through to EDD and explained, they helped me fix it and my payments started again. Might be worth double-checking all your past certifications.

That's a good point, I'll definitely go back and review my certifications. Thanks for the tip!
