6 weeks, no money from EDD claim. Help!
Hey everyone, I'm in a tough spot. I've had an open claim for 6 weeks now and haven't received any money. It's getting really frustrating. Has anyone else experienced such a long delay? Any advice on how to speed things up?

Ugh, I feel your pain. I was in the same boat a few months ago. Have you tried calling them? It's a nightmare to get through, but it's sometimes the only way to get answers.

I've tried calling so many times, but I can never get through. It's like they don't want us to reach them 🤬

Pro tip: call right when they open. I got through after only 30 minutes on hold that way!

6 weeks is way too long. Have you checked your online account to see if there are any pending issues or required documents?

I found a method to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/Ize0EkN4HDI

Sounds too good to be true. Has anyone else tried this?

20 bucks? Thats kinda steep for something that should be free...

I know it sounds sketchy, but I swear it worked for me. Saved me hours of frustration. Worth every penny imho

Have you tried reaching out to your local representative? Sometimes they can help push things along.

I hadn't thought of that. How do I find out who my local rep is?

Just google '[your state] find my representative'. They usually have contact forms on their websites. Good luck!

The system is so broken. I've been waiting for 10 weeks now. It's like they want us to give up 🤡

Here's what I've learned from my experience with delayed claims: 1. Document everything. Keep a log of all your attempts to contact them. 2. Check your online account daily for updates or requests for information. 3. If you can't get through on the phone, try emailing. Sometimes they respond faster that way. 4. Consider reaching out to your local representative or senator's office. They often have staff dedicated to helping with these issues. 5. If you're really in a bind, some local charities or churches offer temporary assistance. 6. Don't give up! It's frustrating, but persistence usually pays off. Hang in there, OP. I know it's tough, but you'll get through this!

No, I was laid off. But good point, I've heard voluntary quits can be tricky.
