EDD Payment Delayed 2+ Weeks, No Income - Need Help ASAP!
Hey everyone, I'm in a tough spot and could use some advice. I filed a claim and my doctor submitted the form, but it's been over two weeks now (which they say is the maximum processing time) and I still haven't received any payment. I'm not working right now, so I don't have any income coming in. This delay is really hitting me hard financially. Has anyone else dealt with this? Any tips on how to speed things up?

Ugh, I feel ya. I was in the same boat last month. Have you tried calling them? It's a pain, but sometimes that's the only way to get things moving.

I've been trying to call, but I can never get through. It's so frustrating! 😤

Pro tip: call right when they open. Like, set an alarm and everything. Sometimes you can get lucky and snag a spot in the queue.

Calling is useless tbh. I spent 3 days trying and got nowhere. The system is broken af 🤡

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

Sounds too good to be true. Does it really work?

Yeah, it does! I was skeptical at first too, but I was desperate. It got me through in about an hour.

$20 tho? That's kinda steep when your broke and waiting on benefits 😬

I get that, but for me it was worth it to finally get some answers and get my claim moving.

Here's what worked for me: 1. Document everything. Keep a log of when you filed, when your doctor submitted forms, and any communication attempts. 2. Reach out to your local state representative's office. They often have liaisons who can help push things through. 3. If you're really in a bind, consider applying for emergency assistance through local charities or your county's social services. 4. Keep calling, but try different times of day. Early morning or right before closing sometimes works. 5. Check your online account regularly for any updates or requests for additional info. Hang in there! The system sucks, but persistence usually pays off eventually.

Wow, thank you so much for this detailed advice! I'll definitely try reaching out to my state rep. Didn't even think of that!

Have you tried faxing your documents? I know it sounds old school, but sometimes it gets attention faster than online submissions.

Faxing? What year is it? 😂 But seriously, I'll try anything at this point. Thanks for the tip!

This might sound crazy, but have you tried reaching out on Twitter? Sometimes publicly @ing them can get a response.
