PFL Payment MIA after 3 months - mailed application, no online account. Help!

Hey everyone, I'm in a bit of a pickle here. I applied for PFL almost 3 months ago by mail because of some technical issues with the online system. Still haven't received any payment and I'm getting worried. Has anyone else experienced long delays with mailed applications? I've tried calling the automated line but no luck there either. Any advice on how to check the status or figure out why I haven't gotten paid yet?

Miguel Diaz

Ugh, I feel your pain! I was in the same boat a few months back. Have you tried setting up an online account now? Sometimes they can retroactively link your mailed application to an online profile.

It did! Took a couple days for everything to sync up, but then I could see my claim status. Fingers crossed it works for you too! 🤞

3 months is way too long, somethings definitely wrong. You need to talk to a real person ASAP. Good luck getting through tho, their phone lines are a nightmare 🙄

I found a method to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video explaining it: https://youtu.be/DOLxZQb92wM

Sounds too good to be true. Has anyone else tried this?

I get the skepticism, but it really did work for me. Saved me hours of frustration.

Here's what you need to do: 1. Try creating an online account ASAP. Sometimes mailed applications get lost in the shuffle. 2. If that doesn't work, you NEED to speak with a rep. Call right when they open for best chances. 3. Be prepared with all your docs - application date, any confirmation numbers, etc. 4. If you can't get through, consider using a paid service like others mentioned or reaching out to your local representative's office. 5. Don't give up! Keep calling and documenting every attempt. The system is frustrating, but persistence is key. Good luck!

This is why I always tell ppl to apply online if possible. Mail is so unreliable these days 🙄

Trust me, I would have if I could. The online system kept glitching out on me.

Have you checked your mail carefully? Sometimes they send requests for additional info that look like junk mail. I almost threw mine away by accident!

Pro tip: if you can't get through on the main line, try calling some of the other departments. Sometimes they can transfer you internally to the right person.
