How to quickly stop PFL after returning to work?

Hey everyone, I just got back to work and need to stop my paid family leave. Anyone know how to do this quickly? I don't want to keep getting payments I'm not supposed to have.

Congrats on getting back to work! I've been there before. You need to contact your state's paid family leave office ASAP. Usually, there's a form you can fill out online or send in to stop the benefits. Don't wait, cuz they might make you pay back any extra money they send after you're back at work.

This is good advice. I had to do the same thing last year. It was pretty straightforward, but it did take a few days to process.

Thanks for the info! I'll look for the form online. Hopefully it won't take too long to process 🀞

Preach! πŸ™Œ The whole system needs an overhaul. It's like they're stuck in the stone age or smthn

To be fair, it's probably to prevent fraud. Imagine if someone could just click a button to start getting benefits again without any verification.

Here's what you need to do: 1. Log into your state's paid family leave portal 2. Look for an option like "Report Return to Work" or "End Benefits" 3. Fill out the form with your return-to-work date 4. Submit any required documentation (like a letter from your employer) 5. Keep an eye on your account for confirmation 6. If you receive any payments after your return date, DO NOT SPEND THEM 7. Follow up by phone if you don't see changes within a week Remember, it's your responsibility to report changes. Don't assume they'll know automatically. Good luck!

I found a method to get someone on the phone quickly. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/DOLxZQb92wM

Sounds too good to be true. Is this legit?

Yeah, it's legit. I was skeptical at first too, but it saved me hours of hold time. Worth every penny imo.

How long did it take to get through?

For me, it took about 45 minutes. Way better than the 3+ hours I spent trying to get through on my own.

Quick tip: take screenshots of everything you submit online. It's saved my butt more than once when dealing with bureaucracy. πŸ’―

Does anyone know if stopping paid family leave affects other benefits? I'm worried about losing my health insurance.

It shouldn't affect your health insurance if you're returning to work. But if you're concerned, double-check with your HR department.
