EDD Paternity Leave Payment Missing for Oct 11-17 - What to Do?

Hey everyone, I'm having an issue with my paternity leave payment. I took a week off from Oct 11-17, but I didn't receive the payment for that time. Has anyone else dealt with this? What should I do?

I found a way to solve paternity leave payment issues, watch this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MKxfF-9BP8c

Ugh, that sucks man. I had a similar issue with my maternity leave last year. Have you tried contacting HR or your benefits department? They should be able to help you sort it out.

Yeah, I reached out to them. Turns out they messed up my application somehow. They said they'll pay me within 72 hours, but I'm still annoyed it happened in the first place.

I swear, these companies always find a way to mess up our pay when we need it most. It's like they don't want us to take the leave we're entitled to. 🤬

Congrats on the new baby! 🎉 Sorry you're dealing with this tho. Make sure to document everything - emails, phone calls, etc. It might come in handy if they don't follow through.

Thanks for the advice and congrats! I'll definitely keep track of everything. Hopefully it won't come to that, but better safe than sorry.

Hey, I found a method to get someone on the phone when dealing with these issues. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Sounds too good to be true. Is this legit? Has anyone else tried it?

I get the skepticism, but it's totally legit. I was desperate after waiting on hold for hours and it saved me so much time. Worth every penny imo.

Pro tip: Always double-check your leave dates with HR before submitting any paperwork. I learned this the hard way. Also, make sure you understand your company's paternity leave policy inside and out. Sometimes there are weird loopholes or requirements that can trip you up.

Good advice. I thought I had everything sorted, but clearly something went wrong. I'll definitely be more careful next time.

This is why we need better parental leave policies in this country. It's ridiculous that new parents have to jump through so many hoops just to get the time off they deserve. Anyone know if there are any advocacy groups working on this issue?

Preach! 🙌 Check out PL+US (Paid Leave for the US). They're doing great work on this front.

Hey OP, here's a detailed breakdown of what you should do: 1. Document everything: Keep a log of all communications, including dates, times, and names of people you speak with. 2. Follow up in writing: After any phone call, send an email summarizing what was discussed and agreed upon. 3. Escalate if necessary: If HR doesn't resolve it in 72 hours, don't be afraid to go up the chain of command. 4. Know your rights: Familiarize yourself with the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) and your state's specific laws on parental leave. 5. Consider involving your union rep if you have one. 6. If all else fails, you might want to consult with an employment lawyer. Remember, this is your legal right. Don't let them brush you off or make you feel like you're asking for too much. Good luck!
