EDD PFL Baby Bonding: No response after 2 weeks, didn't ask for wage info. Normal?
Hey everyone, I applied for baby bonding leave with EDD over 2 weeks ago and still haven't heard anything back. I'm getting worried because they didn't ask for any wage info or pay stubs during the application. Is this normal? Anyone else experiencing delays? Any advice on how to follow up would be great!

Ugh, I'm in the same boat! Applied for PFL like 3 weeks ago and radio silence. It's so frustrating not knowing what's going on. Have you tried calling them?

I've been trying to call but can never get through. It's like their phone lines are always jammed š«

Pro tip: call right when they open. I managed to get through after a few tries doing that.

Don't worry too much about the wage info. They usually pull that from your employer's records. But 2 weeks is a bit long... might wanna follow up soon.

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone! I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/DOLxZQb92wM

Sounds too good to be true. Is this legit?

I was skeptical at first too, but it really worked for me. Saved me hours of frustration.

20 bucks tho? Thats kinda steep just to talk to someone...

I get it, but for me, it was worth it to finally get some answers and peace of mind.

Here's what I've learned from my experience: ā¢ EDD is seriously backlogged right now. 2-3 weeks wait time is unfortunately common. ā¢ They don't always need wage info upfront because they can access it through your employer. ā¢ If you haven't heard back after 3 weeks, definitely try to contact them. ā¢ Keep all your documents handy (pay stubs, employment info, etc.) in case they ask for it later. ā¢ Check your spam folder regularly! Sometimes their emails end up there. ā¢ If you can't get through on the phone, try their online portal or even snail mail. Hang in there, OP! The system is frustrating, but you'll get through it.

Thank you so much for this detailed response! Really helps put my mind at ease. I'll give it another week and then try to contact them.

Have you checked your UI Online account? Sometimes they update stuff there before sending out notices.

Anybody else feel like the whole system is designed to make us give up? It's like they're hoping we'll just forget about it if they ignore us long enough š

Nah, I think they're just understaffed and overwhelmed. Still sucks tho.

Quick question - did you submit your claim online or by mail? I've heard online claims are processed faster.

I did it online. Guess it's still not fast enough š
