Confused about EDD PFL certification after transitioning from disability with employer sick pay - will this mess up my claim?
I just had my baby in February and I'm totally confused about how to handle my EDD certification for baby bonding PFL. I was on pregnancy disability for 8 weeks, and during that time my company was paying me 30 hours of sick leave bi-weekly on top of my disability benefits. Now I've filed for baby bonding PFL, but I'm stuck on the certification form where it's asking about the week before my PFL claim started (when I was still on disability). Do I need to report the employer sick pay that overlapped with my disability payments? The certification form is asking about income during that transition week and I'm terrified of answering wrong. I've tried calling EDD three times but get disconnected every time. I don't want to delay my baby bonding payments by making a mistake, especially with a newborn to care for! Has anyone dealt with this transition period between disability and PFL with supplemental employer pay?

I went thru this EXACT thing last year!! The form is super confusing. You DO NOT report the sick pay again - you only report NEW income you received during the specific week they're asking about. If you already reported that sick pay when certifying for SDI, don't report it again for PFL! I made that mistake and they reduced my benefit by mistake and it took 2 MONTHS to fix!!!!

Let me tell you, the whole EDD system is SUCH a nightmare by design! They make the forms confusing on purpose so they can deny claims and save money.
