If I could give 10 stars I would

If I could give 10 stars I would If I could give 10 stars I would Such an amazing service so needed during the times when EDD almost never picks up Claimyr gets me on the phone with EDD every time without fail faster. A much needed service without Claimyr I would have never received the payment I needed to support me during my postpartum recovery. Thank you so much Claimyr!

Really made a difference

Really made a difference, save me time and energy from going to a local office for making the call.

Worth not wasting your time calling for hours.

Was a bit nervous or untrusting at first, but my calls went thru. First time the wait was a bit long but their customer chat line on their page was helpful and put me at ease that I would receive my call. Today my call dropped because of EDD and Claimyr heard my concern on the same chat and another call was made within the hour.

An incredibly helpful service

An incredibly helpful service! Got me connected to a CA EDD agent without major hassle (outside of EDD's agents dropping calls – which Claimyr has free protection for). If you need to file a new claim and can't do it online, pay the $ to Claimyr to get the process started. Absolutely worth it!

Consistent,frustration free, quality Service.

Used this service a couple times now. Before I'd call 200 times in less than a weak frustrated as can be. But using claimyr with a couple hours of waiting i was on the line with an representative or on hold. Dropped a couple times but each reconnected not long after and was mission accomplished, thanks to Claimyr.

IT WORKS!! Not a scam!

I tried for weeks to get thru to EDD PFL program with no luck. I gave this a try thinking it may be a scam. OMG! It worked and They got thru within an hour and my claim is going to finally get paid!! I upgraded to the $60 call. Best $60 spent!

Thank you SO MUCH for this update! I'll try the technical support line tomorrow morning. It's such a relief to know it's a system issue and not something wrong with my specific claim.

THANK YOU!!! I just called that technical support number and they were able to confirm my claim is actually processing! What a relief. They said it should be paid out by next Friday. Why couldn't they just put this information on their website??

Just to add some clarity because I see some confusion in this thread: 1) Your EFFECTIVE DATE (9/6) is the start of your claim 2) Your first CERTIFICATION PERIOD will cover 9/6-9/19 3) You can SUBMIT this certification starting 9/20 4) Payment typically processes 24-48 hours after certification 5) Subsequent certifications will be every 2 weeks And yes, as others mentioned, you're currently on SDI for pregnancy disability. After delivery, you'll transition to PFL for baby bonding, which requires a separate application.

This breakdown is SO helpful, thank you! I've bookmarked this so I can reference it later. Just to confirm - SDI is 4 weeks before birth and 6-8 weeks after (depending on delivery type), then PFL is 8 weeks beyond that, right?

That's correct! SDI covers up to 4 weeks before your due date and typically 6 weeks after birth for vaginal delivery or 8 weeks for C-section. Then PFL provides 8 weeks of baby bonding time. So you could get up to 18-20 weeks total depending on your situation.

Anyone else notice the payments are always delayed by like 3-4 days after certifying? So annoying when you're counting on that money for bills 🙄

yep! mine always hit my BofA card on wednesday or thursday even when i certify sunday at midnight exactly. so frustrating

when did ur disability officially end? sometimes people think there's a gap but actually their disability claim is still active for a few days after they think it ended.

My disability ended exactly 2 weeks ago - my doctor put my recovery date as 6 weeks postpartum, and that date was 14 days ago. My last disability payment covered up to that date.

Based on everyone's experiences here, it sounds like you're still within the normal processing timeframe. The system will backdate your PFL benefits to begin the day after your disability ended, so you won't lose any money during this gap. One thing to prepare for: when your PFL is finally approved, you'll likely receive all the backdated payments at once. This sometimes confuses people because they see a larger deposit than they expected. Just be aware this is normal - it's covering the full period since your disability ended. I hope your claim gets processed soon!

Thank you! That makes sense about the lump sum payment. I'll be prepared for that. I appreciate everyone's help and experiences - makes me feel much less alone in dealing with this!

Anybody else notice that their first PFL payment was for a different amount than what they were expecting? Mine was like $267 less than my disability payments were. I freaked out but then realized they take taxes out differently for PFL vs disability. Just a heads up since you're transitioning from disability to PFL.

Omg thank you for mentioning this!! I had no idea the tax withholding might be different. I'll keep an eye on the amount tonight. I wish EDD explained these things better in their materials.

Just to clarify - the tax withholding options are the same for both SDI and PFL, but if you didn't specify your withholding preferences when you applied for PFL, it defaults to 10% federal tax withholding with no state tax withholding. You can change your tax withholding preferences through your online account if needed. The benefit amount calculation itself should be identical between SDI and PFL.

EDD appeal hearing for quitting job to care for mom with dementia - chances of winning?

Hi everyone, I'm feeling really anxious about my EDD appeal situation. I had my hearing yesterday after quitting my job back in January to provide caregiving for my mom who has mid-stage dementia. The whole situation was impossible - Mom was living with my brother about 7 hours away, and her condition deteriorated rapidly after she wandered away from his house and was missing for nearly 8 hours in freezing temperatures. I tried everything to avoid quitting. Requested FMLA paperwork but her neurologist wanted an in-person follow-up before completing the certification (impossible with the distance). Asked for reduced hours or temporary leave, but my employer said my position couldn't accommodate either option. When I finally gave notice, my supervisor actually said "I understand completely" but then they contested my PFL application anyway. The appeal hearing seemed to go okay? My former employer didn't really have strong arguments since they acknowledged they knew about my caregiving situation and admitted they couldn't offer alternative positions during the hours I needed. But I'm still so nervous about the decision. It took 5 months just to get this hearing scheduled, and I've read it can take another 4-6 weeks for a decision. Meanwhile, I'm drowning in debt, maxed out credit cards trying to cover basic expenses while providing full-time care. Has anyone won an appeal in a similar caregiving situation? What are my chances?

Did your former employer show up to the hearing with an attorney? Or just an HR rep? That makes a big difference too.

It was just their HR director - no attorney. She actually acknowledged during the hearing that they were aware of my situation and that I had tried to find alternatives before quitting. So that felt positive to me.
