One more thing OP — if you have direct deposit set up for future payments you might want to think about switching away from the Money Network card entirely. California EDD lets you redirect payments to your own bank account through SDI Online or UI Online and honestly dealing with your own bank's customer service is about 100x easier than Money Network. Just something to consider going forward even if it doesn't help your current situation.
I think it takes effect for the next payment cycle after you update it — so depending on timing you might miss one payment before it routes to your bank. Might be worth calling to confirm the exact timeline.
Update us when you get this resolved OP! This has been one of the more informative threads I've read here about EDD card stuff. Genuinely didn't know about Reg E protections or the CFPB option before reading this.
Just adding some additional context for anyone who finds this thread later searching for Money Network EDD cardholder information: The Money Network card used by California EDD is specifically called the EDD Debit Card - Bank of America actually handles this program in 2025 (there was a transition). If you got a newer card it may actually be a Bank of America card rather than a Money Network card. The old Money Network program has been phased out and new EDD debit cards are issued through Bank of America's prepaid program. Worth checking which card you actually have because the customer service numbers and portals are different.
Look at the back of the card - if it says Bank of America anywhere that's the current program. If it says Money Network it's the older one. Both are legitimate EDD debit card programs just from different eras of the program.
honestly this whole thread should be pinned somewhere. so much useful information about the Money Network phone number for EDD cardholders and how the card system actually works
California EDD cardholder questions come up constantly and most people don't realize the EDD side and Money Network side are totally separate systems. This thread explains it better than the official EDD website honestly.
random thought — have you checked whether there's been any fraud alert activity on your Money Network account? California EDD had a big push to flag accounts for identity verification last year and sometimes that flagging process puts holds on card transactions that show up nowhere obvious in the app or account portal. the only way to clear it is to call and get a rep to manually check for identity verification flags specifically
they can be separate flags in the system yes. worth explicitly asking 'do I have any identity verification flags on my account' as a specific question separate from asking about security holds
UPDATE REQUEST: OP can you let us know if any of the solutions in this thread worked? Specifically curious whether the Money Network supervisor found a secondary flag or whether it turned out to be the card-sent-to-wrong-address situation. This thread is super useful for people dealing with the same runaround and knowing the actual resolution would make it even more helpful.
So glad it worked out! And thank you for updating the thread - this is going to help a lot of people who search for this issue.
For anyone still struggling to reach EDD about this - I want to add one more data point. I had the identical issue (Money Network no account found, EDD payment history showing released) and the agent I spoke with mentioned this is actually more common than EDD publicly acknowledges. Something about how the card issuance system handles certain claim types creates these silent failures more frequently. She said the fix is always a manual reissuance from their end and it processes overnight. So the answer everyone is giving in this thread is correct - there is no shortcut except getting an EDD agent on the phone.
The systemic nature of it is frustrating. If it's this common there should be an automated detection and reissuance process rather than requiring claimants to spend days trying to reach a phone agent.

Update me when you get the replacement? I'm curious how long it actually takes in 2025. I've seen people say different things ranging from 5 days to 2 weeks and I want a current data point since I'm in a similar boat debating whether to report mine missing

•Perfect thank you! And did they say anything about your balance being protected in the meantime?

•Yes they confirmed the card is frozen immediately and my balance is 100% protected. And they're reviewing my recent transactions for any unauthorized charges. Feeling a lot better about this now.

For anyone finding this thread in the future: the key steps for a lost California EDD debit card are (1) call Money Network at 1-800-684-7051 immediately, (2) ask them to freeze the card right away, (3) request a review of recent transactions for any unauthorized activity, (4) verify your mailing address with them before they send the replacement, (5) get your case reference number, and (6) consider switching to direct deposit afterward to avoid future card issues. And if you have any California EDD claim issues that need a phone call to an actual EDD agent, claimyr.com has been a lifesaver for a lot of people in this community when the regular phone lines are impossible to get through.

•And check your balance through the Money Network app or online portal in the days following the call to make sure no further unauthorized charges appear before your new card arrives.
