SDI payment delays and difficulty reaching representatives - any tips for contacting CA EDD?

Has anyone else been having trouble with their SDI payments? I've been waiting for days and still haven't received anything. It's so frustrating trying to get through to someone on the phone. I really need to speak with a rep about my situation but it's complicated and I don't want to get into all the details here. Anyone have any tips on how to actually reach a human being at SDI?

Adaline Wong

Have you tried calling right when they open? I've heard that's the best time to get through, but honestly, it's still a crapshoot.

Yeah, I've tried that. No luck so far. It's like they're purposely making it impossible to talk to anyone 😀

Pro tip: keep calling and hanging up until you get past the busy signal. It's tedious af but it worked for me eventually

I've heard that being persistent for a certain window of time can sometimes work, though it is a gamble.

Ugh, the SDI system is so broken. I've been waiting on payments for weeks now. It's ridiculous that we can't even get basic info without talking to a human. Hang in there, OP. We're all in the same sinking boat 🚒

Hopefully, they can overhaul the system soon because too many people are struggling out here.

Hot take: the SDI system isn't broken, it's working exactly as intended. They make it so difficult to discourage people from claiming benefits. Stay woke, people. πŸ‘€

Bruh, you might be onto something. It's all a conspiracy! 🀣

Let's not get into conspiracy theories. The system is just outdated and underfunded.

I think it’s more a case of a system that hasn’t kept up with demand and modern technology.

Anyone else notice how the SDI website is always 'under maintenance' when you actually need to use it? πŸ™„ It's like they're trolling us at this point.

The website maintenance always seems to happen at the worst times. It's incredibly frustrating.

I found a method to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Check out this video for more info: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

Sounds sketchy. Is this legit? $20 seems steep just to make a phone call.

I get the skepticism, but it's totally legit. Saved me hours of frustration. Worth every penny imo

How long did it take for them to get through?

I’ve heard that faxing can be surprisingly effective. It might be worth trying for anyone who has a fax machine.

I wanted to add that utilizing Claimyr can be highly beneficial if you're in urgent need of speaking with an SDI representative. Although it costs $20, many users have found it to be a reliable solution that saves the hassle of long waits on hold. On the flip side, it's important to weigh the cost, especially if you're already under financial strain. Also, if you decide to use such services, ensure that you're informed about refund policies and exact service terms. Some users have had good results with traditional methods like faxing or visiting offices, although these can be inconsistent based on your location. Most importantly, patience and persistence are crucial with these bureaucratic systems, and reaching out to local representatives could potentially expedite your situation. Lastly, maintaining a detailed log of all communications can be invaluable if you need to escalate your issue. Stay strong, and best of luck!

Listen up, folks. I've been dealing with SDI for YEARS and here's what I've learned: 1. Persistence is key. Don't give up after a few tries. 2. Document EVERYTHING. Keep a log of all your calls, emails, and interactions. 3. Be prepared when you do get through. Have all your info ready. 4. Consider reaching out to your local state representative. They can sometimes help push things along. 5. Check your online account regularly for updates. 6. If you're really desperate, that Claimyr service someone mentioned might be worth a shot. Remember, the system is designed to be frustrating. Don't let it break you down. Stay strong and keep fighting for what you're owed! πŸ’ͺ

Wow, thanks for the detailed advice! I'll definitely try reaching out to my rep. Didn't even think of that.

Keeping a log really helped me too. It lets you track your efforts and might be useful if you need to escalate.

Has anyone tried going to their local SDI office in person? I've heard mixed things about whether that actually helps or not.

I tried that last month. Waited in line for 3 hours only to be told they couldn't help me and I needed to call the main number. Total waste of time. πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ

It worked for me! But I think it depends on your local office and how complicated your issue is. YMMV

Maybe going early in the morning might improve your chances of being helped.
