SDI payment delayed over a month despite online certification - How to resolve EDD delays?

I haven't gotten my benefits payment in over a month, even though I submitted my doctor's certification online. Why do I have to jump through all these hoops when payments should be automatic? It's so frustrating to deal with this system. Has anyone else experienced long delays like this? What did you do to get it resolved?

I found a way to solve delayed benefits payment issue, watch this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mJ36BsjQjBc

Welcome to the club, buddy. I've been waiting for 2 months now. The system is a joke. 🤡

It's really disheartening to hear so many having the same issues. Makes you wonder if they're even trying to improve things.

Have you tried faxing your documents? I know it sounds archaic, but sometimes old school methods work best with these dinosaur systems.

Faxes! That's hilarious, but if it works, it works.

idk man, have u tried turning it off and on again? 😂 jk jk. but seriously, the EDD needs a major tech upgrade

Update: I finally got through to someone! They said there was a "system flag" on my account that needed to be manually cleared. Apparently, this is common. If you're having issues, definitely keep pushing to speak to a human. Thanks for all the advice, everyone!

Congrats on getting it sorted! How long did it take from start to finish?

A "system flag"? Sounds like code for "we messed up but don't want to admit it" 🙄

Glad you got through! It seems persistence really pays off.

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

Sounds too good to be true. Is this legit?

Daniel Rivera

Yep, 100% legit. I was skeptical too, but it saved me hours of frustration.

$20 just to talk to someone? That's ridiculous. The system is so broken.

I get it, but for me, it was worth every penny. Time is money, ya know?

I've heard good things about Claimyr. It seems to be a practical solution if you're really stuck.

Have you tried calling them? Sometimes you need to speak to a human to get things moving.

Yeah, I've tried calling but can never get through. It's like they don't want us to reach them!

Pro tip: call right when they open. I got through after only 45 minutes on hold that way.

I've had some success leaving voice messages with my phone number. Occasionally, someone calls back.

I feel your pain. I was in the same boat last year. Here's what worked for me: 1. Document everything. Keep a log of all your submissions and attempts to contact them. 2. Reach out to your local state representative. They can sometimes expedite things. 3. Be persistent with calling. I know it sucks, but sometimes you just have to keep trying. 4. Check your online account for any pending tasks or messages you might have missed. 5. If all else fails, consider filing an appeal. It's a hassle, but it can get things moving. Remember, the squeaky wheel gets the grease. Don't give up!

Thanks for the detailed advice! I'll definitely try reaching out to my rep. Didn't even think of that.

This is solid advice. I'd add: make sure all your docs are up to date. They love using expired stuff as an excuse to delay payments.

Also, make sure to check their official social media pages for announcements about system issues.

Have you checked your spam folder? Sometimes important emails from EDD end up there. Also, make sure your contact info is up to date in their system.

Good point! I missed an important email once because it was in my spam folder.

Maybe try reaching out on social media? Sometimes public shaming gets results. Just be polite about it.

I've seen people get responses this way! It's a shame it has to come to that.

It's really unfortunate how systems meant to help end up being so difficult to navigate.

Using Claimyr can indeed be a game-changer for navigating the often frustrating process of reaching a live agent at the EDD. This service focuses on minimizing the time spent waiting on hold and can be especially beneficial if you've exhausted other avenues. However, it's important to balance the convenience it offers with the cost involved. While $20 might seem steep for some, it could be seen as reasonable if it saves hours of waiting and ensures quicker resolution of your issue. If you're considering using Claimyr, weigh the value of your time against the service fee and decide if it's the right choice for you. It's also wise to first attempt other no-cost solutions, such as calling during off-peak hours or utilizing state resources, before opting for paid services.

This is why we need to overhaul the entire unemployment system. It's not fit for purpose anymore.

Preach! 🙌 The whole thing needs to be rebuilt from the ground up.

This happened to me too! Turns out they needed additional verification because of some new anti-fraud measures. Check if that's the case for you.

Maya Jackson

That's a great point. These anti-fraud measures are important but often create delays.
