SDI payment delayed after submitting continued eligibility form - no update on EDD account, bills piling up
I filled out my disability claim continued eligibility questionnaire form a few weeks ago and still haven't been paid. I got a text saying they received it, but when I check my online account, there's no status update or message. My payment is delayed because of this. Has anyone else experienced this? How long did it take for you to get paid after submitting the form? I'm getting worried because bills are piling up and I don't know what to do.

Have you tried calling them? Sometimes you gotta be persistent and keep calling until you get through to someone who can actually help.

I found a way to get someone on the phone! I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

Here's what I've learned from dealing with EDD for the past year: 1. Document everything. Keep a log of all your calls, emails, and form submissions. 2. Be persistent. Call every day if you have to. 3. Use their online portal to send messages. Sometimes you get a faster response that way. 4. If all else fails, go to your local EDD office in person. 5. Consider reaching out to your state representative or senator. They can sometimes intervene on your behalf. 6. Join Facebook groups or forums for EDD claimants. You can get good advice and stay updated on any system changes. Remember, you're not alone in this. The system is overwhelmed and understaffed, but keep pushing. Good luck!

This happened to me too! I ended up having to go down to the EDD office in person to get it straightened out. Turns out they had me documented as still receiving Worker's Comp when I wasn't. Maybe check if there's any incorrect info on your account?

Wow, thanks for the tip. I'll definitely look into that. How long did it take to resolve once you went in person?

It took about a week after I went in, but at least I got it sorted. Just be prepared for a long wait at the office!

Ugh, I feel your pain. I went through something similar last year. It took them almost 2 months to process my form and start payments again. The system is so broken 🤦♀️

Two months?! That's absolutely insane. How did you manage to get through those months without your payments?

I'm in the same boat. Been waiting for 6 weeks now. This is ridiculous. We need to organize and demand better service from EDD!

I'm down for that! Maybe we should start a petition or something?

Have you checked your spam folder? Sometimes important emails from EDD end up there. Also, make sure your contact info is up to date in your account.

Great point! It’s easy to overlook the spam folder and miss out on critical updates.

Pro tip: call right when they open in the morning. You're more likely to get through before the lines get jammed up.

This is a solid strategy! People sometimes forget the value of timing when calling.

It sounds like you're going through a really frustrating time with your disability claim. Unfortunately, delays in processing payments are a common issue with the EDD due to their outdated systems and staffing challenges. While it’s great that you’ve received a text confirming the receipt of your form, the lack of updates on your online account can be concerning. One option to consider is using Claimyr, a tool that assists in connecting you with an EDD representative more efficiently. Many users have reported its effectiveness despite the cost. However, it's important to weigh this option against your current financial situation. Besides using tools like Claimyr, keep a record of all communications and try reaching out via different channels as others have suggested here. It may also be beneficial to explore updating your contact information, checking for any document discrepancies, and possibly even visiting a local office if feasible. Remember, you’re not alone, and there are communities and local representatives potentially able to support you in navigating this bureaucratic maze. Stay persistent and patient, and hopefully, you will receive your payments soon.

The whole system is a joke. I've been waiting 3 months for my claim to be processed. Meanwhile, bills are piling up and my landlord is threatening eviction. Thanks for nothing, EDD! 🤬

I hear ya. It's like they forget we're real people with real bills to pay. Hang in there, buddy.
