SDI payment delay - no benefits received after 6 weeks. What to do?

Hey everyone, I'm having trouble with my SDI benefits. I filed a claim a while back and still haven't received any payment. I'm wondering if there might be a delay in paperwork or something else going on. Has anyone else experienced this? Any ideas on what I should do next?

I found a way to solve SDI payment delay issues, watch this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BpyrkF0eJNM

Ugh, I feel ya. The SDI system is such a mess rn. When did you file your claim? It can take a few weeks to process, but if it's been longer than that, something might be up.

Thanks for the reply. I filed about 6 weeks ago, so yeah, it's been a while. 😕 Any suggestions on what I should do?

6 weeks? Yikes, that's def too long. You should try calling them ASAP. Be prepared to wait on hold forever tho 🙄

I second this. Call them and don't take no for an answer. Sometimes you gotta be persistent to get results with these bureaucrats 💪

I had a similar issue last year. Turns out there was a problem with my paperwork that they never bothered to tell me about 🤦‍♂️ Definitely give them a call and ask for a status update on your claim.

Here's what you need to do: 1. Call the SDI office first thing in the morning. Like, right when they open. 2. Have all your paperwork ready - claim number, dates, everything. 3. Be polite but firm. Ask specifically what's causing the delay. 4. If they say there's missing info, ask them to specify exactly what they need. 5. Get the name of who you talk to and a reference number for the call. 6. If they can't help, ask to speak to a supervisor. 7. Keep a log of all your calls and what was said. If you still don't get anywhere after a couple tries, consider reaching out to your local state representative. They sometimes can help push things along. Good luck! The system's a mess, but don't give up. You'll get your benefits eventually.

lol good luck getting anyone on the phone. I tried for weeks and kept getting disconnected or put on eternal hold 🤡

Same here. It's like they're purposely making it impossible to reach them 🙄

Pro tip: use the Spanish line and then ask for an English speaker. Usually way shorter wait times!

Hey, I found a way to actually get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

Sounds too good to be true. Has anyone else tried this?

I get the skepticism, but it seriously worked for me. Saved me hours of frustration. Worth every penny imo

have you checked your online account? Sometimes they update info there before sending out notices

Yeah, I've been checking it daily. No updates there either 😔

This happened to me and it turned out my doctor hadn't sent in some required paperwork. Might be worth checking with them too!
