SDI check MIA - filed claim but no payment received. Help!

Hey everyone, I'm having some issues with my SDI check. I filed my claim a while back and still haven't received anything. Has anyone else experienced this? Any advice on what I should do next? I've tried calling but can't get through to anyone.

Ugh, I feel your pain. I was in the same boat last month. Have you checked your online account to see if there's any updates or messages? Sometimes they need additional info and don't tell you directly.

Thanks for the suggestion. I've been checking my account daily, but no updates so far. It's so frustrating!

Pro tip: check early in the morning, like 6am. Sometimes the system updates overnight and you might catch new info before the site gets busy.

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone! I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

Sounds too good to be true. Has anyone else tried this?

I'm skeptical. Why should we have to pay to talk to a government agency? 🤔

I get the skepticism, but it seriously worked for me. After weeks of trying, I finally got through and sorted out my issue. The $20 was worth it to get my benefits flowing again.

Can you give more details about how it works? Do they guarantee you'll get through?

Sure! Basically, you choose the department you need to reach on their website, pay the fee, and their system starts calling. It navigates the phone tree and waits on hold. When a real person picks up, it calls your phone and connects you. They don't guarantee it'll work every time, but if it doesn't, you can try again for free.

Have you tried reaching out to your local assembly member's office? They can sometimes help push things along with EDD. Worth a shot!

3 months?! That's insane. I thought my 6 weeks was bad. This state needs to get its act together.

Here's what I've learned from my experience with SDI and missing checks: 1. Document everything. Keep a log of all your calls, emails, and account checks. 2. Double-check your claim details. Sometimes a small error can hold things up. 3. Use the online portal to send a message. It's slow, but you'll eventually get a response. 4. If you can, visit an EDD office in person. Bring all your documentation. 5. Contact your state representative. They have liaisons who can escalate your case. 6. Check if your employer submitted all necessary info. Sometimes they drop the ball. 7. Be persistent but polite. The system is overwhelmed, but the people trying to help are doing their best. Hang in there, OP. It's a frustrating process, but keep at it!

This should be pinned at the top of the subreddit. So helpful!

Windows 95? You're giving them too much credit. This is some Commodore 64 level tech we're dealing with 😂

I heard they're super backed up because of the pandemic still. Might just need to wait it out, unfortunately.

Not sure if this helps, but I had a similar issue and it turned out my doctor hadn't submitted some required paperwork. Might be worth checking with them to make sure everything's been sent in properly.

That's a good point, I'll give my doctor's office a call tomorrow to verify. Thanks for the tip!
