SDI file pending for 3 weeks, no updates. Benefits delayed. Help?

Hey everyone, I'm having an issue with my SDI file. It's been pending for three weeks now and hasn't been updated. This is causing a delay in my benefits. Has anyone else experienced this? Any ideas on how to speed up the process or get some answers?

Ugh, I feel your pain. I was stuck in the same boat for almost a month. It's so frustrating when you're counting on that money and the system just leaves you hanging. Have you tried calling them?

I've tried calling but can never get through. It's like hitting a brick wall every time 😫

Pro tip: call right when they open. I got through after only 30 minutes on hold that way!

Good advice! I'll have to try that next time. Tho tbh I'd rather get a root canal than spend another morning on hold with SDI 🙃

I found a method to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

Sounds too good to be true. Has anyone else tried this?

$20 just to talk to someone? That's ridiculous. The system is so broken 🤦‍♂️

I know it sounds sketchy, but I swear it worked for me. Saved me hours of frustration. Sometimes you gotta spend money to make money, ya know?

How long did you have to wait after using the service?

It took about 45 minutes, but I didn't have to do anything. The service called me when an agent was on the line. Way better than sitting on hold myself!

Here's what I've learned from dealing with SDI for way too long: 1. Document everything. Keep a log of all your calls, emails, and file updates. 2. Be persistent. Call every day if you have to. 3. Reach out to your local assembly member's office. They can sometimes expedite things. 4. Check your online account regularly for any updates or requests for additional info. 5. Make sure all your paperwork is in order and you've submitted everything they've asked for. It's a pain, but stay on top of it. The squeaky wheel gets the grease!

Wow, thank you so much for this detailed advice! I'll definitely start keeping better records. Do you have any tips for contacting the assembly member?

Sure thing! Just google your local assembly member, most have a 'contact us' form on their website. Explain your situation and ask if they can help expedite your claim. They usually have staff dedicated to constituent services.

I'm convinced the whole system is designed to make us give up. Stay strong, OP! Don't let the bureaucrats win! 💪

Anyone else notice that the SDI website is always "under maintenance" when you actually need to use it? 🙄

OMG YES! It's like they know exactly when I'm gonna log in and shut it down just to mess with me 😂

Pro tip: try accessing the site using incognito mode or a different browser. Sometimes that works for me!

Hey OP, what was the reason for your SDI claim? I'm about to file one and I'm nervous about the whole process...

I had surgery and need to be out of work for a few months. Don't be nervous, just make sure you have all your docs in order before you file. Good luck!

Plot twist: what if the SDI office is actually run by a bunch of sloths? 🦥 Would explain a lot tbh

Hey now, don't insult sloths like that. They're way more efficient!
