Need help appealing EDD disability extension - doctor already approved til November

Hey everyone, I need some advice on extending my disability benefits. My doctor has already extended my disability until November, but I'm not sure how to go about appealing to EDD for another year. Has anyone gone through this process before? I'm trying to figure out the best way to contact them and what information I need to provide. Any tips or experiences would be really helpful!

I found a way to solve EDD disability extension issues, watch this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_1q4Hh4ecgM

I've been through this before. Here's what you need to do: 1. Gather all your medical documentation 2. Write a clear, concise letter explaining why you need the extension 3. Contact EDD through their website - there's an online form you can use 4. Be prepared for a long wait - the system is slow af 5. Follow up regularly - don't let your case fall through the cracks Good luck! The process can be frustrating, but stay persistent.

This is solid advice 💯 I'd add that keeping a log of all your communications with EDD is crucial. You never know when you'll need to reference something!

Thanks for the detailed advice! Do you know where exactly on the website I can find the online form? I've been poking around but it's like a maze in there.

No prob! It's buried pretty deep. Go to the main EDD page, click on 'Contact Us', then look for 'Disability Insurance'. There should be a form there. If you cant find it, try using the search function on the site.

have you tried calling them? sometimes talking to a real person can speed things up

I've tried, but I can never get through. It's always busy or I'm on hold forever 😫

Pro tip: call right when they open. You might have a better chance of getting through.

Guys, I found a method to actually get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Check out this video for more info: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

Sounds too good to be true. Has anyone else tried this?

20 bucks? Idk man, seems kinda steep just to make a phone call.

I get the skepticism, but honestly, after spending hours trying to get through, it was worth every penny. Saved me so much time and frustration.

How long did you have to wait before they connected you?

It took about an hour, but I didn't have to sit there listening to hold music. They just called me when an agent was on the line. Way better than wasting a whole day trying to get through.

make sure you keep copys of EVERYTHING. EDD lost my paperwork twice and I had to start all over 🤬

Has anyone had luck with faxing? I heard it might be faster than mail or email.

Just a heads up, there's been some changes to the appeal process recently. Make sure you're using the most up-to-date forms or they might reject your application outright.

Oh no, I had no idea! Do you know where I can find the latest forms?

Check the EDD website under 'Forms and Publications'. They usually have the most recent versions there. Always double-check the revision date!

Hey OP, don't forget to prepare for the possibility of a phone interview. They might want to ask you some questions directly. Be ready to explain your situation clearly and concisely!
