Missed call from EDD about final Disability claim update - how to reach a real person?

Hey everyone, I'm trying to get an update on my final Disability claim. I called the number but when I answered, there was just music playing. I think I might have missed the call. Has anyone else had this issue? Any advice on how to get through to a real person?

Ugh, I feel your pain. The disability claim process is such a nightmare. I've been trying to get through for weeks now. It's like they're purposely making it difficult for us 🙄

Seriously! It's like they don't want us to actually get our benefits. I've been on hold for hours and still nothing.

Have you guys tried calling right when they open? I heard that's the best time to get through.

Yeah, I've tried that. Still no luck. It's so frustrating!

I found a method that actually works to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video explaining it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

I get the skepticism, but it honestly saved me so much time and frustration. Worth every penny imo

How long did it take for them to call you back?

It took about 2 hours, but I just went about my day and they called when an agent was available. Way better than being stuck on hold!

Here's what I've learned after dealing with this for months: 1. Be persistent. Call every day if you have to. 2. Keep detailed records of all your calls and interactions. 3. If possible, try to use their online portal for updates. 4. Consider reaching out to your local representative for help. 5. Be prepared with all your info when you do get through. 6. Stay calm and polite with the agents, even though it's frustrating. Hope this helps someone! We're all in this together. 💪

Great advice! I'd add: don't give up. It took me 3 months, but I finally got my claim sorted.

I'm in the same boat. Been trying to get an update for weeks now. The system is so broken, it's ridiculous. 🤬

Pro tip: if you get through and they put you on hold, DO NOT HANG UP. I once waited 3 hours but finally got my issue resolved.

Has anyone had luck with the online portal? I've been trying to use it but keep getting error messages. 🤔

The online portal is a joke. I've had better luck teaching my dog to speak English 🐶

It worked for me once, but then never again. Classic government efficiency 🙄
