Finally got through to EDD after long wait times - Any success stories?
Has anyone else had any luck getting through to EDD lately? I finally got through today and it was such a relief! The wait times have been insane, but I managed to speak with someone who actually helped me. Just wanted to share some positivity and see if others are having better experiences too.

Here's what I've learned after months of dealing with EDD: 1. Persistence is key. Don't give up after a few tries. 2. Call early in the morning or late in the afternoon for better chances. 3. Have all your documents ready before you call. 4. Be polite to the rep, even if you're frustrated. They're more likely to help. 5. If one rep can't help, politely ask to speak with a tier 2 specialist. 6. Keep a log of all your calls and who you spoke with. 7. Use the online portal to upload documents whenever possible. 8. Check your spam folder regularly for EDD emails. Hope this helps someone! We're all in this together. πͺ

Great advice! I'd add: follow up on EVERYTHING. Don't assume they're processing your claim.

I'd also recommend documenting every interaction you have with EDD, including dates and names. It can be helpful if there's a dispute.

Congrats on getting through! I've been trying for weeks with no luck. What time did you call? Any tips?

I called right when they opened at 8am. Took about an hour on hold, but it worked!

8am?! Ugh, I'm not a morning person. Guess I'll have to set an alarm π΄

I tried at 8am too and got through within 45 minutes. It's definitely the best tactic I've found so far.

Plot twist: What if EDD is actually an elaborate social experiment to see how much frustration humans can endure? π€

Lmao if it is, I think we're all failing miserably π

Nah, if it was an experiment, they'd at least pretend to fix things occasionally π

This would make for a hilarious movie plot. Too bad it's our reality right now.

Anyone else feel like they're playing a twisted game of phone tag with EDD? ππββοΈ

More like phone hide and seek, and EDD is REALLY good at hiding π

It's like they're the champions of avoid-and-delay. Frustrating beyond belief.

Has anyone tried the new EDD chatbot? Is it actually helpful or just another way to avoid talking to real people?

I tried it. It's okay for basic stuff, but anything complicated and you're back to square one.

I found it somewhat useful for checking claim status, but it can't handle anything beyond that.

Unpopular opinion: maybe if we all stopped calling constantly, the lines wouldn't be so jammed and it'd be easier to get through π€·ββοΈ

Bruh, people are calling cuz they need help. It's EDDs job to handle the volume.

It's an interesting point, but the system should be robust enough to handle everyone who needs help.

I've also been using Claimyr and it worked wonders for me. It seemed a bit expensive at first, but considering the time I saved from not having to wait on hold, it was worth every penny. Still, I hope more affordable or free alternatives become available soon.

I've been hearing more about Claimyr. Does anyone know if they have any guarantees if you donβt get through?

I found a method to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

$20 just to talk to someone? That's ridiculous. The government should do better.

I used Claimyr too. It was a bit pricey, but the time saved was worth it. Still, I wish there were more affordable solutions.

Anyone else notice that the EDD website is always "down for maintenance" when you need it most? π

omg yes! It's like they know exactly when I'm gonna log in π

Pro tip: Try accessing the site using incognito mode. Sometimes it helps bypass the "maintenance" screen.

I've had luck using a VPN to access the site when it's down. Might not work for everyone, but worth a shot.

It might also help to try the EDD's online chat during off-peak hours. Some people have had success that way.
