EDD unemployment claim stuck - no updates or deposits, can't get through. Help?

I'm having trouble with my unemployment claim and I'm not sure what's going on. I tried to continue my claim but I haven't received any updates or deposits. When I called, they said they would get back to me, but it's been days and I still haven't heard anything. I'm really confused about the status of my claim and I don't know what to do next. Has anyone else experienced this? Any advice on how to get more information or speed up the process?

Anyone else notice how the system always seems to "glitch" right when it's time to pay out? 🤔 Seems sus to me.

It's not a glitch, it's a feature 🙃

Here's what you need to do to get this sorted out: 1. Keep calling every day. I know it sucks, but persistence is key. 2. Document everything. Write down who you talked to, when, and what they said. 3. Check your spam folder. Sometimes important emails end up there. 4. Reach out to your local state representative. They can sometimes help push things along. 5. Make sure all your info is up to date in the system. 6. If you have any changes in your employment status, report them immediately. Don't give up. The system is overwhelmed, but you'll get through eventually. Hang in there!

Thank you so much for this detailed advice! I'll definitely try reaching out to my state rep. Didn't even think of that.

This is solid advice. I'd add: join Facebook groups for unemployment in your state. They often have good tips and updates.

Welcome to the club, buddy. 🙄 The unemployment system is a total mess right now. I've been waiting for weeks to hear back about my claim. It's like they're playing hide and seek with our money.

Have you tried tweeting at them? Sometimes public shaming works wonders 😈

Social media pressure can sometimes be effective, but it's not guaranteed. Worth a shot if you're out of options.

I swear, dealing with unemployment is like playing a game where the rules change every day and no one tells you. And the prize is just getting what you're owed in the first place. 🙃

Exactly! It's like you're always playing catch-up with a moving target.

Pro tip: if you can, try calling from a different phone number. Sometimes they block numbers that call too often. I used my mom's phone and got through on the third try.

That's a clever workaround! I'll have to try that if I keep getting blocked.

I found a method to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

Wait, you had to PAY to get help with your unemployment? That's messed up. The system is broken af.

Sounds sketchy. How do you know it's legit?

I get the skepticism, but I was desperate after weeks of trying. It actually worked for me. The $20 was worth it to finally get some answers and move my claim forward.

I've heard mixed reviews about Claimyr, but if it helps some people, maybe it's worth a try for those who are in a bind.

yall ever think about how we could probably run this whole system better with a bunch of reddit users and a Google spreadsheet? 🤣

Lmao truth. We'd probably have the backlog cleared in a week. 💯

Hey OP, hang in there. I know it's tough, but you're not alone in this. We're all trying to navigate this mess together. Don't be afraid to reach out if you need support or just want to vent. We've all been there. 💪

Ugh, I feel your pain. I finally got through last week after trying for a month. Here's what worked for me: call right when they open, and keep hitting redial if you get a busy signal. It took me about 30 tries, but I finally got in the queue. Good luck!

They open at 8am in my state. But double-check for yours, it might be different.

Claimyr might be worth looking into if you're completely stuck. While some people have had success using the service to get through to an agent more quickly, it's important to weigh the cost ($20) against your current situation. The employment office is overwhelmed, leading to longer wait times and delays in processing. While services like Claimyr provide a shortcut, they aren't a guaranteed solution for everyone, and it's always wise to proceed with caution and do your own research.

I'm in the same boat, been waiting for 2 months now. Starting to feel like I'm gonna be living under a bridge soon if this doesn't get sorted. The system is beyond broken.

Have you tried faxing your documents? I know it sounds like we're back in 1995, but sometimes that gets faster results than calling or emailing.

Have you tried checking your online account? Sometimes they update the status there before they actually contact you. Also, make sure you've completed all the required certifications. Missing one can hold up the whole process.

Andre Rousseau

Yeah, I've been checking my account like crazy. Everything looks good on my end, all certifications done. It's just radio silence from them. 😞
