EDD still owes me 4 weeks pay after finally getting through - what now?

I finally got through to someone about my missing payments, but it didn't go as planned. They still owe me 4 weeks of pay! I did get some money today, but it's not the full amount. Has anyone else dealt with this? How did you resolve it? Any advice on what to do next?

Ugh, that sucks! I've been in the same boat. It took me forever to get through, and when I did, they only partially resolved my issue. Have you tried calling again? Sometimes you get different answers depending on who you talk to.

Yeah, I'm thinking about calling again. It's just so frustrating to wait on hold for hours. Did you eventually get all your money?

Eventually, yes. But it took like 3 more calls and a lot of patience. Don't give up! 💪

This is why the system is broken. We shouldnt have to call multiple times to get what we're owed! 🤬

I found a method to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

Sounds too good to be true. Does it really work? How long did you have to wait?

It worked for me! I waited about 2 hours, but I didn't have to sit by the phone. They called me when an agent was ready.

Idk man, paying to get through seems sketchy. Shouldn't this be a free service?

I get it, but for me, it was worth it to not waste a whole day on hold. Time is money, ya know? 🤷‍♂️

Here's what you need to do: 1. Document everything. Keep a record of all your calls, who you spoke to, and what they said. 2. File a formal complaint with the department. Sometimes this can escalate your case. 3. Reach out to your local state representative. They often have staff dedicated to helping with these issues. 4. If all else fails, consider contacting a lawyer who specializes in employment law. Don't give up! The system is frustrating, but persistence usually pays off. Good luck!

Wow, thank you so much for this detailed advice! I'll definitely start documenting everything. Have you gone through this process yourself?

Yep, unfortunately. It took about 2 months, but I finally got all my back pay. The state rep's office was surprisingly helpful!

Have you checked your online account? Sometimes they update the status there before they actually send the payment. Might give you some info on whats going on with those missing weeks.

Good idea, I'll take a look. The website is usually so slow tho 😩

Tell me about it! Pro tip: try accessing it late at night or early morning. Way faster 👍

This happened to me too! Turns out there was an "issue" with my claim that no one bothered to tell me about. Keep calling and asking specifically if there are any flags or issues on your account. Don't let them get away with giving you vague answers!

omg yes! They love to be vague. I always ask them to notate my account with exactly what we discussed. helps for the next call

Anyone else notice that they seem to "lose" weeks right before holidays? 🤔 Seems sus to me...

Yo I thought I was the only one who noticed this! 👀

Conspiracy theory much? 🙄 It's probably just busier around holidays so more mistakes happen.
