Need help reporting missing wages to EDD - payment still pending
Hey everyone, I'm having some issues with my wages and payments. I need to report missing wages and my payment is still pending. Has anyone gone through this process before? What should I expect when I call? Any tips on how to handle this situation?

Ugh, been there done that. It's such a pain to deal with missing wages. Here's what I did: 1. Gather all your pay stubs and work schedules 2. Write down exact dates of missing wages 3. Have your employer's info ready 4. Be prepared to wait on hold FOREVER 5. Stay calm and polite (even tho its hard) Good luck, hope you get it sorted out!

This is solid advice. I'd add: keep a log of all your calls and who you spoke to. It can get confusing fast!

Thanks for the tips! I'll definitely make sure to have all my docs ready. How long did the process take for you?

It took about 3 weeks for me, but I've heard it can vary. Just keep following up!

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/0UZGuPWGErg

Sounds too good to be true. Has anyone else tried this?

I get the skepticism, but it saved me hours of hold time. Worth it imo

How long did it take for you to get connected?

It took about 2 hours, but I didn't have to sit by the phone. They called me when an agent was on the line.

Oof, missing wages are the WORST. 😫 I swear the system is designed to be confusing on purpose. Hang in there, OP!

Conspiracy theory: they make it hard so people don't claim what they're owed 👀

Have you tried reaching out to your employer first? Sometimes they can resolve it without going through the whole government process.

I did, but they said I need to go through the official channels. It's frustrating.

Pro tip: call right when they open. The wait times are usually shorter early in the morning.

This! I always try to be the first caller of the day. Works like a charm.

Remember to be nice to the person on the phone. They're probably overworked and underpaid too. A little kindness goes a long way!

LPT: Record your phone calls (if it's legal in your state). It's saved my butt more than once when dealing with bureaucracy.
