EDD payment issues after early return to work - no payment for 1+ month
Has anyone else had issues with their disability payments after returning to work early? I submitted my revised return to work date (went back about 3 weeks earlier than planned) but haven't received payment for those last few weeks. It's been over a month now and I'm getting worried. Any advice on how to follow up or what to expect?

Ugh, I'm in the same boat! Returned to work early and now it's like they forgot about me. Been waiting for weeks and nothing. The system is so broken 🤦♂️

Have you tried calling them? I know its a pain, but sometimes thats the only way to get answers

Yeah, I've tried calling but can never get through. It's like they have one person answering phones for the whole state 🙄

Pro tip: call right when they open. I got through after only 30 mins on hold last week!

I found a method to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

Sounds too good to be true. Does it really work?

Yeah, it actually does! I was skeptical at first too, but I was desperate. Got through in about 2 hours.

$20 just to talk to someone? That's ridiculous. The system is so broken 😤

I get it, but for me, it was worth it. Saved me days of frustration and missed work trying to call myself.

Here's what you need to do: 1. Document everything. Write down the exact dates you worked and when you submitted your revised return date. 2. Keep trying to call. Yes, it sucks, but persistence is key. 3. If calling fails, send a written request for review. Use certified mail so you have proof they received it. 4. Contact your local state representative. Sometimes they can help push things along. 5. If all else fails, consider filing a formal appeal. Remember, you're entitled to those benefits. Don't give up!

This happened to me last year. Turns out they had my return-to-work date wrong in there system. Took forever to fix but I eventually got backpaid. Hang in there!

Oh man, that's exactly what I'm worried about. How long did it take for you to get it sorted out?

It took about 2 months total. But once I finally got through to someone on the phone, they fixed it pretty quick.
