EDD Payment Delayed 3 Weeks - Missing Certification Paperwork. Help!

Hey everyone, I'm having a problem with my unemployment benefits. I haven't received any payments for the last three weeks, and I can't seem to get the paperwork I need to certify that I didn't work during that time. Has anyone else run into this issue? Any advice on how to get this sorted out?

Ugh, I feel your pain. The EDD system is such a mess right now. I had a similar issue last month. Have you tried calling them? It's a nightmare, but sometimes that's the only way to get things moving.

I've been trying to call for days, but I can never get through. It's so frustrating! 😤

Pro tip: call right when they open. I got through after only 30 minutes on hold that way.

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

Sounds too good to be true. Has anyone else tried this?

20 bucks? That's highway robbery!

I know it sounds sketchy, but I swear it worked for me. Beats spending hours on hold or not getting through at all.

Can you give more details about how it works? Is it legit?

Yeah, it's legit. You just go to their website, choose the EDD line, pay, and they start calling. When they get a real person, your phone rings. Simple as that.

Have you checked your online account? Sometimes they post important notices there about missing paperwork or certification issues.

This is why we need to overhaul the entire unemployment system. It's not equipped to handle the volume of claims we're seeing now. 🤦‍♂️

Preach! 🙌 The whole thing is held together with duct tape and prayers at this point.

Here's what you need to do: 1. Log into your UI Online account and check for any pending certifications or notices. 2. If you can't find the paperwork there, try requesting it through the 'Contact Us' feature. 3. Keep calling the EDD. Use the trick of calling right at 8:00 AM when they open. 4. If all else fails, contact your local state representative. They often have dedicated staff to help with EDD issues. 5. Document everything - dates you called, who you spoke to, what was said. 6. Check if you qualify for any hardship programs while you wait for this to be resolved. Hang in there, OP. The system is overwhelmed, but persistence is key. Don't give up!

This is solid advice. I'd add: make sure your mailing address is up to date in the system. Sometimes they send important stuff by snail mail.

Have you tried reaching out on Twitter? Sometimes the EDD responds faster there. Worth a shot! 🤷‍♀️
