EDD Claim Update & Payment Issues - Need Advice for Talking to Agent
Hey everyone, I'm having some issues with EDD and could use some advice. I finally got my form issue sorted out, but now I need to get my claim updated and payment sent. Has anyone been through this process recently? Any tips on what to say when I finally get through to an agent? I'm worried about messing up and delaying things even more.

Ugh, EDD is such a nightmare. I've been dealing with them for months now. When you get through, make sure to ask for a status update on your claim and any pending payments. Be super clear about what you need and don't let them rush you off the phone!

This š Seriously, don't let them rush you. I made that mistake and had to call back like 3 times š¤¦āāļø

Yep, and write down EVERYTHING they tell you. Names, dates, claim numbers, the works. You'll need it later, trust me.

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone! I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

Sounds too good to be true. Has anyone else tried this?

20 bucks? Idk man, seems kinda steep just to make a phone call...

I get the skepticism, but it seriously saved me hours of frustration. Worth every penny imo

Can confirm, I used it last week and got through in like 30 minutes. Game changer šÆ

Here's what worked for me: ā¢ Call first thing in the morning, right when they open ā¢ Have all your docs ready before the call ā¢ Be polite but firm about needing your issue resolved ā¢ Ask for a supervisor if the first agent can't help ā¢ Get a confirmation number or email for any changes they make Good luck! The system is broken, but persistence pays off.

Pro tip: if you can't get through on the main line, try calling your local EDD office directly. Sometimes they can help or at least transfer you to the right person.

Wait, we can do that? How do you find the local office number?

Google 'EDD office near me' and it should pop up. Not all of them take calls, but it's worth a shot!
