EDD Application Stuck in Limbo: No Updates for Over a Month After Resubmitting. Help!
Hey everyone, I'm in a bit of a pickle with EDD. I filed an application for unemployment benefits about 2 months ago, but it got sent back because of a missing signature. I fixed it and mailed it right back, but it's been radio silence for over a month now. No updates, no mail, nothing. Anyone else dealing with this kind of delay? Any advice on how to speed things up or at least find out what's going on?

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

Here's what worked for me: 1. Send a follow-up letter via certified mail. This creates a paper trail. 2. Contact your local state representative. They often have liaisons who can help push things along. 3. If you can get through on the phone, ask for a tier 2 specialist. They have more authority to resolve issues. 4. Check your online account daily for any updates or requests for additional info. 5. Be persistent but polite. Remember, the person on the other end is probably overwhelmed too. Hang in there, OP. The system is frustrating, but don't give up!

In my experience, it took about 2 weeks to get a response after sending certified mail. But at least I knew they received it!

Pro tip: if you can't get through on the main line, try calling their technical support number instead. Sometimes they can transfer you to claims dept. Good luck!
